Oilers played great yesterday. Devils had nothing going offensively.
Not many teams could get much going offensively against the Oil during this streak. Don't be too down on Hughes and the boys, the Oilers have been leaving their opponents in the dust when it comes to scoring chance differential for a while now.

McDavid has 20 points in 7 games during this winning streak. If he does that for the remaining 57 games he will score 199 points this season.

If they lose to the hawks. It would be a very oiler way to lose the winning streak.
meh, We ended many a winning streaks and beat really good teams during our decade of darkness. A little perspective makes a big difference. It's a hard league to win in and the nature of an 82 game schedule means losing to teams below you in the standings happens fairly often.

We should just be happy there are teams below us now.

I think a win tonight (if it happens) would put us at .520?

Nice thing for us? Yotes and Blues are both on 3 game losing streaks.

Agree with above.. this should be a winnable game that we absolutely Oiler up and lose.lol Mrazek with a shutout, Bedard with a hattrick incoming.haha

The duality of fans. Edmonton before the winning streak was getting .863 goaltending, McDavid had 16 points in 16 games, and fans said they were dead in the water and it was time to give up. Edmonton during their winning streak are getting .935 goaltending (also shooting over 14% as a team), McDavid has 20 points in 7 games, and fans are pounding their chest and calling them contenders again.

Just like how bad they looked to start the season wasn’t an indication of their talent, how good they look now isn’t an indication either. It will be interesting to see where they settle out.

Agreed, but they’ve also been deserving of these wins.

I don't think I have seen anyone calling them "contenders".. Just they are now trending more to their average with many just saying "get in the playoffs and go from there". Confidence is a fickle thing....within the dressing room and on the couch.

Though once you are in the playoffs, you are technically a contender, no? ;)
