Assuming you’re a Habs fan, it’s ironic you say this after they drafted a legit offender

That being said, this is a gross hire for many reasons

Most people didn't want Mailloux. They got shat on for it and it was under Bergevin, easily the most hated GM in Habs history.

You guys gave a PTO to Vartanen, signed Perry, Kane and now Bowman. Cue the circus music.

He made some good moves early in his tenure that helped the Hawks win 2 more cups after 2010.
He made some truly terrible moves later in his tenure that slammed the contention window shut prematurely.

He was an idiot for taking McDonough's word that he would handle the Aldrich situation.

Stan Bowman isn't even a good GM, he'll be Jeff Jackson's puppet and be on his best behaviour.

Bowman shouldn't be anywhere near the game ever again, but this is the NHL and shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

The kind of move you win by sitting back and doing nothing, yet the Oilers go out of their way to invite trouble. Not unexpected, but still disappointing.

Ohhhh noooo a rich guy lost his ability to become richer for a few years.

Lol that's not punishment befitting helping to cover up sexual assault, and we really have to stop thinking that way. It's not like he was at risk of living under a bridge.
Dude should be living under a bridge, and having flaming bags of dogcrap thrown at him.

Criminals in prison have a higher moral ground when it comes to child abuse.

I'm not the kind of person who wants to blacklist players or coaches, because I think people deserve redemption and should be given a second chance if they pay the price and atone for their acts. But at the same time, how did Bowman "pay the price and atone for his acts"? He stepped down as GM of the Hawks when he was likely going to be fired anyway, took like 2.5 seasons off and then got reinstated.

Just another reason to dislike the Oilers.

Kassian turned his life around after showering himself with snow as a Habs.

Kane has been a good citizen ever since he became an Oiler. Who knows what would have happened with Virtanen if he had more skills.

Nothing wrong with giving 2nd chances but Bowman shouldn't be the GM hire

It is a really bizarre risk in context. Other folks have commented on the rest.

My question: Knoblauch is safe? This move doesn't change that?

Absolutely. Us common folk would run the risk of serious criminal charges that would follow us for the rest of our lives, affecting where we can live, work, go to school, etc., if we helped to cover up serious crimes. f*** Stan Bowman and f*** his lost wages. He should never work in hockey again.

This angle makes even less sense. If Jackson wanted to hire an empty suit why in all hell would he pick Stan freaking Bowman for that?
