I wonder what the consequences of trading all of the futures for Jones 3-4 years from now will be?
I think thats the point of the trade. Whether the hawks are contenders or not. Management believes Jones will anchor our defence for the next 7 years and that will outweigh boqv,a 12th and another potential 10th-20th. I like the idea but its tough to decide if Jones will be THAT guy

Yep. If Jones is a true #1 (say top 15-20ish), then the trade was definitely worth it.

Based on what exactly? I ask because I can't find anything about it.
We hear about it every day. Ignorant people who think their freedom is at stake or some other lame explanation.

I'm sure NHLers are not immune to the ignorance. Tyler Bertuzzi is an example of a player who claims he will not get vaccinated and I can guarantee there are more who either won't or who think they were forced to get vaccinated... a la Duncan Keith.

I honestly haven't followed who is vaccinated or not as I don’t go to athletes for medical advice. Know what I mean.

Is he confirmed to not be vaccinated? NEVERMIND Musto just being political and assuming things.

Was hoping we’d be hearing how much stronger Mitchell came into camp, but instead the silence surrounding him is deafening.

Although him spending an entire year in Rockford isn’t a bad thing for him given how out of place he looked last year in the NHL.

Boqvist and late 1st's = ALL ha-ha

The greater concern is the 9.5mil for 8 seasons. Stop playin'

& late 1st's
Only time will tell about this trade short term and long term, but as much as I like Boqvist's skill level, his concussion history always made me nervous and I think it will play a factor ultimately when we look back at this deal.

There has been literally nothing said about him, and no pairings with him even mentioned. Does anyone even know if he’s there?

Just split sessions and other news is bigger. Mitchell still has a really high ceiling. Don’t let Musto sour him.

I never said his ceiling wasn’t high.

He wasn’t even close to ready last year and his development went backwards. He doesn’t strike me as a guy who can learn on the fly in the NHL like Boqvist. Doesn’t have that same amount of raw talent.

Not to mention he’s small and his confidence was absolutely shot last year and he then started playing even smaller like a lost puppy on the ice.

He needs a year in the AHL building his confidence and being one of the better players on the ice from a talent perspective.

I was simply stating it.

Meh. It is day 2 and they are split sessions still. Give it a bit.
Right, and shouldn't everyone's working assumption be that Beaudin and Mitchell are starting the year in Rockford? Its not hard to look at the depth chart and waiver exemption status and see that they are clearly #8 and #9 unless something crazy happens. Something insane would need to happen for either of them to be in any discussion after one day of camp.
