Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I'd love to see that happen but I'm not sure how the Kings can make that work.

He's on quite a reasonable cap hit of 3.1 mill (1yr). I don't know what we could trade to make it work though.
How good are their youngish R Dmen? (Michael Stone, Connor Murphy) both played over 20mins per game, both RFA.
It would be nice to kill two birds with one stone (excuse the pun) and acquire a good 3c and 4 rd in one trade.

Crazy idea but maybe trade Jeff Carter to the Islanders for Travis Harmonic and pick/prospect and then sign Eric Staal to replace JC????
I know Staal didn't quite fit in NY but he seems like a Kings player and shouldnt cost too much..either that or Backes...

I'd much rather have Carter than Staal, I'm not sure we could even afford him or Backes. Hamonic would fill the hole on defense, but we're pretty much opening another hole down the middle without Carter. I dunno why you have Doughty-Hamonic paired together when we're already short on right handed Dmen, we'd need to have Ham on the second pair with Muzzin or Martinez. It doesn't make sense to load up 2 right handed shots. That would be a great top 4 D, but at the cost of losing our already weak center depth.

Staal would work for 3C, make one of the kids try to take it from him and if they do move him to LW. Or if someone on the RW goes down move Staal up and move Carter over.
With the amount that Sutter changes his lines around, have players that can play multiple positions is a good thing.

I would definitely take Staal on a 1 or 2 your deal at around 3-3.5 mill per year. He can be easily moved around from 3rd Center to 2nd Center to being a lw. Has flexibility.

Staal didn't look to good last year. Rather just have Vinnie stay Un-retired at 2.5 mil a year. It was DL that made the handshake deal not Hextall. Let Philly pay for half.

i agree hes going to get more then 3.5 but no way he gets over 6. Hes not worth more then that
The biggest reason I have Hamonuc with DD is to lessen the burden on DD since he's played the most minutes of any NHLer the last 2-3 seasons and fatigue and wear and tear are showing.....truthfully Kevin Gravel is a smart, steady and big defensive defenseman that could benefit DD so while never ideal I'd put a rookie with DD because he might be the best fit...

The trade would also add $1.5 million in cap space to fill in that hole and with Toffoli and Pearson likely to have breakouts they can carry a line
100% with ya there my guess would be 6.25x4 front loaded and exposed to expansion. it's just funny to see some proposals on here like they are dead on skates playing weekend with bernie style.
not a newsflash but kings don't have the cap or assets to sign a game breaking forward because of what was given away for nothing in lucic and sekera. that ship sailed. twice.
if lucic signs they bring gravel and forbort up full time and ship one of martinez/gaborik out by trade deadline for whatever needs more help.
if lucic walks they sign 2RD with the 3.5mil and hope for any resurgence from brown/gaborik before exposing them to expansion after next year.

Yes they can, and it would increase from last year. I believe the emergency 5 has been invoked every year by the players, but then they lose something else. Can't remember what. The emergency 5 is what has the cap elevated in the first place. Not invoking it one of these years would be a way to really put the screws to the teams that are tight. It would balance out the league even more.
