GDT: Official Trade Deadline Thread II

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I'd go anywhere from Buffalo. A) Their team sucks. B) It's a nasty, cold, dirty city.

Yeah I agree, people who put their families ahead of their careers are total POS's. You serious?

Rarely happens anyway, and I would agree it shouldn't be used am excuse, but I'm not gonna knock someone for that choice.

Yeah not sure if he does, then again, Sabres are hurting and imo Columbus has a brighter future. You're right though, he would be a great fit for them and Buffalo could certainly use a 1st round pick.

And who plays 3C if Boyle is moved now?

Rangers have 12 forwards on the roster, and 7 hours 'til game time.

Me thinks Pyatt and Boyle are here to stay, and the Rangers moves this deadline were bringing in Zucc, and bringing in Clowe.

Our center depth would be fantastic.

Richards, Stepan, Powe, and Fred Savage, who, out of desperation from both sides, ends up signing a 2 year contract to center the fourth line.

I find it shortsighted how badly we want to dump Boyle with no replacements in mind. Powe centering the 3rd line will get it done. :facepalm:

We need to free up money. We need to sign McDonagh, Stepan and Hagelin to long-term deals. I guess we'll see how Clowe plays first before re-signing him.

Trade Boyle and Pyatt. Gaborik if the price is right

With 2 hours, 30 minutes left before the 2 p.m. CT trade deadline, there has been one minor trade today in the NHL. As I wrote in today's Insider, there was a good chance today would be a bit of a dud around the league after guys like Ryane Clowe, Jaromir Jagr and Derek Roy were traded yesterday and so many deals had been executed in the days leading up -- Jarome Iginla, Doug Murray, Jay Bouwmeester, etc.

The Wild tried hard for Clowe and felt it made a quality offer, but in the end, Clowe decided to go east. That was even with some gentle persuading I hear from former Sharks teammates on the Wild.

The Wild is making calls and I do hear it is one of many teams that has been talking to Buffalo the past few days about captain Jason Pominville. I know the Wild has scouted Buffalo recently, too.

The 30-year-old right wing was asked to submit a list of eight teams the other day that he would not accept a trade to. Minnesota was not on that list, I am told.
