Clowe is better, my reaction was based of what I learned about Clowe by visiting the Rangers FB. Not even worrie about this trade, he'll definitely help.

He's making 3 million per right now. He'll want a decent raise. He's rumored to be asking for 5 million per year (https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ight-with-brunner-and-filppula-contract-talks). The Wings will definitely want to resign him, and have the cap space to do it - the question is are they willing to do it for that much? I bet they will get him somehwere between to $3.5-4.5 mil and resign him; he's not worth $5 mil... but who knows? He could get it on the open market.

Not seeing him coming to the Rangers at that price and for what he brings (great two-way play, but not a Torts kinda guy, and not enough offensive production to justify $5 mil).

I stopped following him. Has to be one of the least-in-the-loop beat writers in sports.

Ever check out one of his chats? My first time was my last. Really mediocre in terms of actual hockey knowledge.
 
IF we move Gaborik draft day or off season, is there anyway Rangers would make a run at Nathan Horton?

Has to be Pyatt, Asham, Eminger, or Gilroy. Maybe even Hamrlik.

I'm guessing it's absolutely Pyatt. It would be a shame to see Ash go considering he's been good when he's been in the lineup.

Again, who will play C if Boyle goes without a C coming back. Halpern is gone.

Stepan-Richards-Miller (does Torts "trust him"?)-Powe/Newbury

With no callup option or injury replacement? Not seeing it, again unless they trade for another C...which would defeat the purpose of trading Boyle to shed salary.
 
Lets be honest, Pyatt does absolutely nothing for this team that anyone else cant do. Gaborik if he finds his scoring touch again can carry this team into the playoffs easily, Boyle is good on the PK and F/O. Pyatt does literally nothing.

Stepan, Richards, Pyatt, Miller?

I rather have miller playing stupid and trying to generate offense than boyle playing stupid and..well thats it.

You're entitled to your opinion but I'm not sure I see Torts agreeing with the way he uses Boyle at times. Miller/Powe are your shutdown Cs in the playoffs? I just don't see it.

I agree they need another C coming back in a Boyle deal or separate deal or they cant move Boyle:rant:

If you want Miller as our 3C entering the playoffs then you also want a sweep. I don't know how else to say it.

Miller is horrible defensively, and turns over the puck entirely too often. He will be an absolute detriment to this team in tight-checking games.

Meanwhile, Boyle has always been super solid for us in the playoffs. **** him though, right?
