Official Tank Thread

Fun fact, Sabres have also won their last 2, but are 7-3 in their last 10.

If we win both against the Sabres, we're right back in the playoff mix. But if we lose both, the Sabres go to 2 points behind us.

Totally different situations. Gainey went all-in to win. Hughes is going all-in to develop a young core. In the end, Gainey's plan didn't work. Hughes' plan is making progress, which means the team slowly gets better and better.

We want the Habs to improve. Finishing bottom-5 only happens if the roster regresses, which means the rebuild is failing.

This will inevitably happen at least one year in pretty much all rebuilds. You don't go from bottom 5 to playoffs in a year most of the time it's a processs. What's important is to not lose vets for nothing while not manking the playoffs. That's the mistake to avoid. You got to keep the value of your assets on else you wont make any progress. As long as we sell it's not a problem.

With Anderson and Dach beat up I'm not sure how much longer the duct tape can hold us together.
A loss in Buffalo will almost seal our fate particularly if there is a 3 point CBJ/Det outcome.

Rantanen decided to play yesterday and the Sabres cooled off, unfortunately.
 
Just for the record, if i dont keep calling to shut down the tank thread after every good thing happens, we wont keep having good things happen. Its just the laws of nature.

going to finish propably 12th, like total legends. Never get the first overall pick on a generational year, that's the way we do it.

This team makes it hard to predict where we're gonna finish. We have stretches of horrendous play and then we see solid play with three wins in a row.

We're probably picking around 10th with our own 1st this year. Adding Mrtka or one of the 2nd line center types (Desnoyers, Bear, Frondell etc) would be decent.

Hard ro see us catching Detroit, Columbus, or Tampa who are all winning.

We'd have to go on a hell of a streak and then one of those three teams would have to come back down to earth.

Since we're so close to a playoff spot and have won 3 straight, hard to see Hughes sell, unless he gets offered a 1st for Evan's amd Armia. But selling could help is not o ly get a top 10 pick, but even a top 5 pick.

Habs could be 3pts back of Det / CBJ as of Sat night and potentially 1 as of next Tuesday night w TBay/Car being their next opponent
