This season turning into nightmare. So much more was expected all summer. Just had one good game then back into same old grind.

If some here were looking around the league and realize some things maybe the bashing of some of our young guys would stop, especially Slaf.

He has some difficulties this year, which is normal, still pacing for around 50-55 points this year again. You think he’s the only young guy in the league developing right now? Wasn’t Carlsson and Fantilli supposed to be better and guys who would’ve went first in 2022? Go look at their stats line and watch them play, are they busts too? Some common sense are needed here.

Oh, so we're not talking about other team's players here? Amen to that.

I mean, that's already the case kinda, half this board doesn't seem to watch other teams considering they now shifted the argument for Slaf's putrid play to "big guys don't develop full muscles until they're 25"

I don’t think you watch other teams and other young players either. It’s easy to see with the whining you do.

hey block me please, i'd rather if you didn't quote me ever, thanks
Nice come back. The arguments are nice. I’m sure you can name us many young players drafted high that are developing faster in the NHL than Slaf in the last 3 draft.

Nah... most grounded takes on Slaf are pretty consistent. Only real differences of opinion are on how high his ceiling will end up being.

The flip flopping is from the hot take crowd that love or hate a player based on their most recent stretch of games.

more accurate to say the some of the loudest complainers post things that reflect a poor grasp of hockey and/or athlete development. But that's par for the course as well.

is it tho? the forever patience crowd can never be wrong if they don't have any opinions, just preach patience and by the time the player hits 26 just blame the coach/development squad

that pattern of f*** ups is the Canadiens identity at this point, I think it's normal to voice strong concerns earlier in the process

There is NO pattern of screw ups with this management team. Most of their acquisitions are too young to know their upside yet.

Lol you have no patience , do you miss Therrien Paciorrety Danault and DD on your Wednesday nights in november. Or even a little plecanecs wow great amazing times we had *in the mix* how I long for those teams again

We have room for another assistant behind the bench. I would hire Michel Therrien with one job. Sit behind Slaf and repeat the whole game: "shoot the f***ing puck", "put the f***ing puck on net". Dr. Shot was a total waste of money, he never shoots.

You've correctly identified a long-standing pattern among Habs fans across the internet, not just here.

Nice that we have two teams to cheer on: cheer against the Habs and for the Flames.

Unbelievable the Flames record when their top 2 leading scorers are dmen, and they only have 3 forwards barely on pace for 40 points: Kadri, Coronato and Huberdeau.

This is the first time we are actually rebuilding from top to bottom with high draft picks at different positions , how is this even close to our past failures

Washington is going crazy this year too

Useless hyperbole and exaggeration doesn't add anything to the discussion.

KH was hired just under 3 years ago. Team had an aging roster, terrible cap situation, bottom tier prospect pool & average at best U25 group.

If you are of the opinion that a team should not commit to rebuilding, and/or would've preferred another decade of Bargainbin style patchwork... that's fine. I disagree, but to each their own.

For thise wanting a dedicated rebuild, this is what it looks like. And by most indicators, we are well on track.

Cap situation is positive and set to improve considerably over next few seasons.

Roster is youngest in the league

U25 group is among the top 3-5 in the league.

prospect pool is top 3-5

upcoming draft capital is top 3-5

this is what patient, methodical rebuilding looks like. The cost is enduring a few years of inconsistent play and poor W/L results.

Its reslly not complicated or hard to understand.

Nah... it's normal to have a different opinion about whether to rebuild or not.

It's silly and childish to whine incessantly about the team following a communicated path quite consistently and effectively.

I'd say the "forever patience" crowd has been wrong for the past 30 years.

Some of us wanted a rebuild 10 years ago while everybody else had the pom poms out for a garbage roster making the loffs of the back of the best goalie in the league.

If anything the patience and tanking crowd have always been right lol the pom poms thinking the team was ever doing anything under Gainey or Bergevin without tanking had it wrong for two decades on here
