Don Sweeney Joins the Program // Expectations for 2022-23 Bruins // Opening-Night Recap – 10/15 (Hour 1) https://985thesportshub.com/episodes/don-sweeney-joins-the-program-expectations-for-2022-23-bruins-opening-night-recap-10-15-hour-1/

What a fluff piece. I like Beers and the others. But c'mon. Serving softballls to Donnie. The only thing semi-good was Don made a comment like <paraphrasing> "I hear people saying we haven't planned for Patrice and David retiring (i.e. no center prospects or singings). I'm going to reverse that and ask who doesn't want them on the team?" That make no sense and tells me he had no plans. Had years to plan for it, nothing. If I was Pasta, I'd think long and hard about who his linemates will be in a few years.

I'm going to end up in a padded room because of Donald Clarke Sweeney.

I personally think Fred Toucher blows but if they were looking to cut anybody get rid of Wallach. He brings absolutely nothing to the table. Not even close to a fill in host like Hardy and Jim Murray either. Kinda crazy that Toucher didn't offer some of his salary and it's all coming from Rich.

Fred's getting a divorce.

Wallach is solid plus he's backup for Grande. He is the most knowledgeable of the 3 on Boston sports and sports in general. Wallach is also the first employee of the Sports Hub.

Lockhart should have never been fired and Rich shouldn't have to do what he's doing.

Waldick and Brandon Meriweather's relationship was the funniest thing on the station for a while when Brandon would do his weekly segments on T&R during football season

Being knowledgeable about sports doesn't make you good at sports radio. I don't think Wallach is. But I think it's safe to say that Grande will take over TV duties when Gorman retires and Wallach will slide into radio gig? Unless they go off the board like they did with Jud over Ryan Johnston.

Waldick, where you aaaat?

Fred is unlistenable lately. Not sure how much of it is a schtick or if he’s actually that miserable a person these days. I get that divorce can do a number on you.

I hope things work out for him and his cat.

Fred was always a miserable person. I'm honestly shocked he didn't get fired last year when he had that meltdown when his wife left him and he ended up going to rehab.

I think Rich is a really good dude, but he doesn't have the ability to carry the show when Fred is out. They'd need to bring in a bigger personality than Joe Murray or Wallach to cohost if Fred got canned.

Agree completely. There’s a reason the two of them have been successful as a pair wherever they are, and it’s because they work insanely well together on air. Over the years I’ve soured on Fred quite a bit for various reasons, but when he’s on he’s great

Rich is another class of human. Whatever they pay him it’s not enough

It's comical how bad of a light this puts Beasley in, and it's absolutely going to effect how negotiations with their talent moves forward in the future.

Good for Rich for being a stand up guy.
All the more reason for Rich to demand crazy money for him and whoever he wants on the ride with him, or he bails. I fully expect them to finish out their current contract while dominating every category, and then chase the money else where

I hope they do

Beasley would be stupid to not pay them after this.

Felger mentioned Sports Hub being a top 5 station in terms of ad revenue in the country. Why would you f*** with that if you're Beasley at this point.

Just beyond stupid.

Good for Felger and Mazz. They have their schtick but both are great off air and incredibly knowledgeable.
