Or Tatar.

He already had his stint. Eaves is a RW penalty-killer, just like Ferraro so better fit.

Basicly I want everybody who has been great down in AHL to get some NHL touch. And at the same time that rotation prevents the same guys driving the highway back and forth.

I like the idea but Tatar and Andersson on the third line somewhat makes up for the loss of Helm. Ferraro is deserving but he isn't gonna help this team as much compared to Tatar.

The "loss" of Helm doesn't have any impact in the roster. Andersson is already there for him.

They already had 12 forwards there against the Canucks without Nyquist. So no call-ups were needed after these Helm news, before Eaves had his injury.

If Eaves is lost, then something could happen and I prefer Ferraro at this point. Let Nyquist and Tatar settle for AHL-duties again.

The loss of Helm has a huge impact on the roster. Andersson is playing great but he doesn't have half the impact Helm has. With Helm in the lineup we are a different team.

Letting Tatar and/or Nyquist settle for AHL-duties is not beneficial to them or Detroit, and that's what's important - not the Griffins.

Of course, we are better overall team with healthy Helm yes.

But you are missing my real point my point all the time. :)

I meant people were suggesting Helm to return on the roster. Now when he is not returning, people are thinking somebody will get called, even though we had 12 forwards on the roster already with Nyquist send down. Simple as that. Don't have to call anybody. If Helm would have returned, we would have 13 healthy forwards in use --> Eaves on the pressbox or something.

But now, IF Eaves is injured, then we have only 11 healthy forwards. Then it could be time to call somebody again.

Weird logic.

Tatar has shown he's a capable NHLer.

If you haven't noticed, we're fighting for a playoff spot

Why is Joakim Andersson even in the lineup?

Make Abdelkader and Emmerton your 3rd and 4th centers.

Call up Tatar at Nyquist

Flip Zetterberg Brunner
Franzen Datsyuk Tatar
Cleary Abdelkader Nyquist
Miller Emmerton Tootoo

North of the 'D"
Flip Zetterberg Brunner
Franzen Datsyuk Tatar
Cleary Abdelkader Nyquist
Miller Emmerton Tootoo

Swap Andersson for Emmerton and switch Cleary and Miller and I'm right there with you.

If Helm ever makes it back bump Abdelkader down, Andersson out and this is about as good a lineup as this team could hope to field given what is, or could be, available to it.

Patrick Eaves has left practice, appeared to hurt his arm.
Just breaking now.

Interesting choice of words... ;)

Babcock said Eaves got hit in jaw with puck that deflected off his stick and is getting checked. He said Zetterberg is fine.

Damn, dude can NOT catch a break with shots to the head.

No, it's not.

Andersson is in the lineup for Helm, already.

Unless Nyquist can play center, keeping Andersson made sense.

I'm pretty sure I've seen you bashing Abdelkader's center abilities, and now you want him centering the third line.

I'm OK with Abs as 4th line center, though I'd prefer him at wing.
But when your third line center is injured, if you don't want to make FLip your third line center, then you bust Abs to 4th line.
It's not rocket science.

Third line center injured, 4th line center moves up until 3rd line guy is back (unless you're willing to bump Flip down)

Make a lot more sense then making Abdelkader Datsyuk's righthand man.

And thinking about it...

Franzen Zetterberg Nyquist
Cleary Datsyuk Brunner
Tatar Flip Eaves
Miller Abdelkader Tootoo

The comment about weird logic was about Henka wanting Ferraro in over Tatar or Nyquist-- so that nobody had to drive back and forth from GR too much

I agree, Helm is great on the PK and his speed is an x-factor against any team. I hope he can get back to full throttle fast.
