The Sabres fans got it right....Apparently after five losing seasons, in which the Sabers were legitimately one of the worst teams in hockey, long time ticket subscribers have seen enough. Reports are, the Sabers are down close to 10,000 in total seasons tickets.
It's a tossup at this point which guy is the worst owner, Pegula or Aquilini. The only difference between the franchises is that Buffalo has burned through three GM's and at least four coaches during the same timeframe as Benning's 'reign or error' in VanCity.
But the Eichel situation seems to have been the final straw. It'll take years and some front office results for the fans to return to Key Bank Arena in Buffalo. It may not seem so right now, but Aquilini is flirting with the same abyss in Vancouver.
The average fan and B.C. family has been priced out of NHL hockey games a long time ago....if the corporate suits ever jump ship, look out!
