Pretty much. If the rest of the family doesn’t step in and remove him this is going to go down the Harold Ballard and Bill Wirtz route where people just stop caring… They were cheap owners but Canucks ownership will stop funding failure at some point and reduce budget.

edit: being the chairman of a NHL team in a Canadian city is the easiest job in the world. Somehow Fiasco Aquilini makes it complicated.

Reading between the lines FA has kept Benning around simply because Benning allows FA to meddle. I suspect Aquillini will be hesitant to fire Benning. I'm afraid that if aqua is forced to make a change he will promote Wiesbrod. Wiesbrod isn't submissive like Benning but he appears to be the type of person who will do whatever it takes to stay in some sort of management role.

Q: if wiebrod is promoted what can we as canuck fans do to voice our concerns? We all don't want another 5-10 years of this. It sounds bizzare that it could play out this way, but my friends how bizzare have the last 8 years been.

I'm not worried they'll promote Weisbrod.

There is no way they could sell that to the masses. These guys are way too image-conscious.

Maybe I'm being naïve, though.

I know Jeff Stipec former VP/COO really well and he had to leave because he couldn’t stand working for them, and it was his dream job.
stipec and Linden shared back to back offices.
Linden left becuase he wanted a patient rebuild,
Stipec left because it was a toxic work environment
I mean TC Carling left right after Stipec and I forget his title. He was like Vice President of Hockey Ops.

I mean to put into perspective
jack Evrensel, Aquilini bought his huge portfolio of restaurants Top Table.
He was suppose to be a consultant but left almost immediately after the purchase.

Once his NCC ran out he is starting as we speak a insanely high end restaurant WITH GAGLARDI and Top Table’s former director literally 200 yards from one of Aquilini’s most prized possession restaurants.

that is the way he operates. money buys everything. He failed miserably with his restaurant ventures before this. So why not buy the best. Then he bought Some of Umberto Menghi’s restaurants.

people do not like Francesco, even in the slightest.

he wouldn’t develop a team from the ground up. The temptation in free agency to tell his GM to say blow the bank on free agents is too tempting.

i said in another thread earlier this week, we already had a fredo. it was arthur griffiths.

we aren't even watching the godfather anymore. we're watching the late 90s tv miniseries mario puzo's the last don, and francesco is... some dumbass i can't remember because it was a tv miniseries from the late 90s.

The real kicker is that Benning and Green will have jobs after this, since they are so buddy buddy with other people around the league.
