Would be my least liked player on the team. Only positive in acquiring him would be that he wouldn't hopefully injury any of our players while being on the same team.

Servicable number 6, and the runs would stop on our guys. Petro has more offense, but Gudas is the better defender IMO.

Even that's not a safe assumption, considering he punched out Giroux during the World Championships a few weeks ago

Which is why I put hopefully wouldn't hurt anyone on our team.

True, just hate him. Wouldn't change due to him being a Panther. View him as the Matt Cooke defenseman.

He did have more ES points than any panthers dman, so it seems as he does bring a bit more to the table than just goonery.

I am surprised that more dont support some extra sandpaper in the lineup, after most stated it was the reason for losing last season.

yes we need to be tougher, but petro for gudas is a bad deal. there are other guys out there who fit the bill and may be available and also fill some holes, kane, stewart just to name two. there are a multitude of others as well.

Gudas is alot more serviceable than Stewart, and Kane would be a disaster in South Beach.

But I agree there are other options out there. They asked, and I threw out a proposal I thought might interest both sides.

i think stewart would be an awesome pick up. tough, fast, can score. decent defensively and an awesome fighter who sticks up for his teammates. kane is better at all dimensions than stewart and would LOVE to have him here! i think he's maturing and can be a key piece.

Keep a guy like Kane as far away from the Panthers as possible.

btw, one player no matter how tough he is isn't going to solve the panthers problems of being soft. grittiness and toughness has to be a team plan with all players buying in. one, or even two additions will help, but it's a total team effort that's important and players sticking up for themselves. you hear me barky. slash the crap out of someone who's trying to be overly physical with you. get the message out that there's a price to pay even if it costs a penalty here and there. and barky and especially bugs. finish you checks. on the fore check plaster the d-men know and then to give them something to think about.

Pure speculation, but Elliotte Freidman thinks an Eberle for Demers swap is plausable. Mentioned that Demers was very close to signing with Edmonton last year before they eventually traded for Larsson.

I think it'd be a cheap way to add scoring and relatively risk-free since we're going to lose a defenseman to expansion regardless.

Wouldn't Florida then lose 2 D-men this summer unless they go 4+4+1?

One of Pysyk/Petrovic with Demers.

petrovic would absolutely be the one who gets protected. I'm fine losing Pysyk but I think Jokinen on a 1 year deal would be more attractive

I'd take anything for Demers frankly :laugh: I've been very hard on him, but he deserves it. The dude drives me up the wall like no other the past 5-10 years dating myself back a bit.

Eberle couple years left not best option (4th,5th best option ) but better than striking out if this was proposed deal. Otherwise no to Eberle likely would be my answer.

That would leave lot of work to this offseason for Tallon.

I don't think Jokinen is very attractive, old and had a brutal season,(injury) factored into it.

He's attractive because he is an expiring contract that will help them get to the cap floor without tying them to a bad long term deal. There is going to be a lot of work for Tallon this offseason regardless.
