Hughes is 4 points up on Makar with 7 more games played.

Makar’s PPG for the season would give him 6 points in those 7 games, had he played them.

So if we assume equal games played, Makar would have a two point lead.

We’re getting close to the point where the games played isn’t going to offset the difference in points.

This race is extremely hot right now.

If you think Quinn Hughes is only about points .. then you need to actually watch the games. The guy controls the game in every facet
Exactly.

Im just not sure how the calder isnt only about point comment fits in. I mean the calder is massively about points.

I could see someone not getting if their play defensively was so bad they were bleeding goals but still putting up points. But thats not Hughes by any stretch. Even if you nitpick his defensive mistakes.

If injuries takes into account, the Boeser would have had a say in Calder 2 years ago on a near 40 goal pace.

So the Canucks 'could' be going for their 3rd Calder in a row....

The only reason Hughes would win is because he's playing for a Canadian team. That's a fact.

What a dumb take. Kid is about to be the first rookie d-man to hit 50 points in 27 years (followed closely by Makar) and you can't give him an ounce of credit?

I didn't say that did I? For me, they are both future Norris winners.

Im telling you these last few games hughes has been controlling the game. and it's not even debatable.

He's played TOI 34:58 5v5
in that span
HD Scoring chances for = 16
HD scoring chances against = 1

16 TO 1 dangerous scoring chance differential in that span of ice time 5v5 is ridiculous.
like that is absurd.
duhhhhh He's a PP QB......... Yeah then explain him absolutely slaughtering 5v5.

Q Hughes is so good, I'm holding out hope that he might sign with the Leafs in free agency since he admitted that he is a Leafs fans and still follows the team. (Won't happen, but one can dream)

I love his skating and puck handling, just a pleasure to watch. Vancouver's got an excellent player in him.
