You can watch the interview for yourself, he definitely never "credited Trump’s tariff threats and talk of making Canada the 51st U.S. state for ratcheting up the intensity." That's a massive stretch.

He does mention he'd love for Trump to be there after the host asks, but at least be factual with your outrage.

Respectfully, what other “politics” if not talk of tariffs and forced economic annexation is there when it comes to Canada and the States recently? Maybe I’m missing something, or just don’t watch enough Fox News to know why else most of Canada would be pissed off with its neighbour right now.

Big difference in him saying "a little bit of everything" when asked about anthem booing, "politics", and the rivalry than directly "crediting Trump’s tariff threats and talk of making Canada the 51st U.S. state for ratcheting up the intensity."

I think it's lame Guerin went on Fox News and made this even more political than it already has become but c'mon, that is very misleading

Would tariffs have forced the Flyers to take Buium over Luchanko?

You guys are harshing my vibe right now. Just let me guilt-free feel my intense feelings of patriotism watching USA Hockey.

Having said that, move the Flyers to Quebec City or Moose Factory for all I care.

What has Moose Factory ever done to you?

I don’t think Quinn should play. Can you imagine how bad it would be for hockey if maybe the best defenseman in the league was showcased in a made-up exhibition final that might draw the most eyeballs since god knows when? Integrity above all, Gary.

I think the NHL wants him to come to be on standby but from his perspective that’s a lot of recent traveling for no guarantee he’s going to play.

I don’t know why they didn’t just continue with the IIHF roster size rules (22 skaters & 3 goalies). It would have saved you from this potential scenario of being in such limbo.

The NHLPA apparently didn’t want to ask extra players to have to volunteer under duress to pass up a vacation and not play. It’s not a situation that is ever going to come up again. This is a league-PA joint one-off.

I get that but they ultimately made it worse for everybody down this path. They’re still begging guys to show up to the last game on the condition they might play if necessary.

Did Team USA use the Flyers' medical staff?

They tried to strike a balance, and probably didn't anticipate the intensity of the games and the number of guys who would get hurt. Canada lost Theodore right away, then Makar go the flu or whatever and they were down to 5 after the first game. At least they admitted it was flawed and allowed call ups. To hold firm to the rule would put the players at risk of being overplayed/beaten to death.

Lots of finger pointing going on by the Bruins here. It could be that Mac was injured in the game against Finland after cheap shot cross check by Armia which drove Mac's left shoulder into the goal post. After that Mac was playing when he should have been sitting out.
Complicating this is the fact that Sullivan is Mac's father in law. Sully probably wanted Mac to play and Mac probably wanted to play for his Father in law. It's an unfortunate situation all around.
