Things I would/will never do.

Protest at a funeral and or any place of worship.

Go to a guests house and say their cooking is/was bad.

Protest a nations' anthem.

One of these things is not like the others.

If the American team, as guests in the country of Canada, had come out before the tournament and rejected the illegal takeover threats made by their country’s deranged dictator, then maybe their precious anthem would have got cheers instead of boos. Silence is complicity.

On 32TTP they played the audio of Friedman talking to the Canadian coaches and then USA coaches, and Torts is by far the most difficult and prickly guy out of all them.

The last question was who would they pick if they needed a shootout goal, and the US coaches said Matthews and Eichel. I looked at the shootout stats since Covid, and Matthews is 6/15 (40%) and Eichel is 7/19 (36.8%). So those are good choices not just big names. Interestingly, Couturier is in between them at 7/18 (38.9%).

The Canadian coaches mentioned McDavid, who is 6/13 (46.2%), Crosby, who is 7/23 (30.4%) and also MacKinnon who has been awful at shootouts since 2020 going 3/16 (18.8%).

Zegras is tops at 13/20 (65%) for SO% in the last five seasons (minimum five goals)

TK in for Jarvis today. Makar in for Harley, so Sanheim is paired with Doughty.

Harley was arguably Canada's best defenseman against the US. Wonder if they had to pull him given his emergency call up status or if the coaches made the call themselves.

I knew it would be a tough go for Finland as they really are the 4th team by a distance in this tournament.
There's a winning strategy they can use in this format. It worked for two periods against the US and they're finding success in this first period against Canada. The margin for error is so small, though.

It's not surprising but still disappointing that no one could even make a statement as simple as that. That shouldn't be remotely controversial
