Ristolainen actually was a big loss for Finland. That’s how bad their talent pool on the backend is/was even when everybody is/was available.

Their whole backend is essentially made up of NHL role players currently & a few them aren’t even that.

I get that they wanted to have an additional centre for a defensive zone draw, but they could have swapped out Marchand for Cirelli. TK is definitely getting the short end of the stick with these coaches.

Leading to the Finland PP, TK made a pass that handcuffed Toews on the breakout. Feels like he’s being punished for that.

Shouldn’t undo all the good he did, but wouldn’t shock me if Cooper did it for that.

The politics in this tournament are as predictable as you’d expect. Binnington and Parayko with the Armstrong connection. The TB boys getting favorable usage (Point is obviously great). Harley getting top 4 usage without even practicing. If you don’t have a coach or manager in your corner at one of these, you better be great.

Our boy Torts' takeaway from that 3v3 where TK slingshot it to Michkov and they won was, "we need to make changes" and to have more defensive structure even in OT lol.
