With the #25 pick in the 2024 NHL draft the Montreal Canadiens are proud and excited to select from Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL.

“He’s one of those players who just seems to “get it”. Almost every puck touch on every shift is handled intelligently, constantly moving play forwards, playing selfless hockey, and keeping things simple in the best way. He reads play extremely well, constantly finding space off the puck and making himself a great pass option, and always seems to have a plan. The footspeed and finishing ability are still a bit of a question mark, but this is a player who will elevate other players and to me that’s always valuable. The fact that he’s doing all of this in the KHL with solid minutes just adds more to the equation in his favor.” -Scouching

I have to say that my list got destroyed none of the guy I was hoping would fall were available… I consider 7 guys initially he wasn’t the highest on my list but he one of the biggest HR swing, I love the effort, the skills, how quick / efficient he is moving the puck, which should translate very well to the smaller ice. The only issue is size/strength but he already playing significant minute in the KHL.

Ottawa: @Sookind you are on the Clock for pick #26.

Then why not pick Lindstrom before Iginla ? He's wayyy bigger.
Could be, but I am shy of Lindstrom injury history. I don't know the whole story there.

Ignila is 8 months younger than Catton. Which gives him more room to grow. This season Ignila scored 55 goals in 72 games. While Catton tallied 54 goals in 72 games. Both played in same league. skill is relatively similar. Ignila upside I see as more yet. His size advantage also sways me to Ignila.

We’re not interested in anyone taller than 5’11 in the current hypothetical of a Habs draft. Where’s @Habs when you need him? :sarcasm:

Who knows, anything can happen.

Thanks to all of you for doing this. :)

I am a billionaire, currently looking to blow a wad of cash. If anyone wishes to sell their team, especially now that the fun task of picking the first round is almost done, I would be willing to pay a handsome sum.

By handsome sum, I mean that I am willing to be your friend.

Well....anyone looking to off-load the burden of picking for a completely un-interesting franchise?

With the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the Carolina Hurricanes are proud to select forward Yegor Surin of Loko Yaroslavl of the MHL.

“We just love this nasty piece of work. He will help us redefine what it means to be Jerks. After getting ousted time and time again in the playoffs, we need to add depth and tenacity down the middle of our team. He plays a complete game with a high IQ, and we believe there is room for significant improvement considering he shows us game in and game out how much he wants it. The late birthday is an added bonus”

@CheldishGamibno is up with the Flames

Forgot to send in my list this morning before leaving for work... Any chance to change the auto to someone yet to be picked? Sorry about it.

@calder candidate got it right Catton is a candidate.
Iggy Wiggy Woo Woo will be the Calder recipient. :sarcasm:

Both players are great one may end up being more durable than the other.
