:laugh:You could probably say that about a lot of teams. Winning is all that matters.

BA did make improvements to the roster in the offseason. Big ones. Sometimes shit happens, doesn't equate to failure. More like a setback, which is common is sports. Those moves will eventually pay off even if they didn't this season.

Edit:
Can't wait to see what the team looks like next season with Durzi, Marino, Simashev, But, and whatever move(s) BA makes this coming offseason. There's going to be a lot of positive additions.

That's the problem.. We are used to cheering and allowing subpar play and leadership. We are now Utah and Ownership should hold everyone accountable. I like BA but I dislike how he handles some players trades and how easily he allows a loser culture.

The team is improving year over year.
How are you measuring improvement this season? 42 games into last season the team had a better record with arguably a worse roster. This season so far; less wins/points, goals per game is down, shots per game are down, and PP numbers are worse.

The only silver lining is maybe they won't go on a massive losing streak this season again? Jury is still out on that though.

Woops, wait a minute, we are so much better though, BA, Bear, the fan base, all say so. How can we have a worse record at the half way point, young guys are all great, Sergi is a Norris candidate, etc......

You have to quit using objective measures like our record, 5th year BA rebuild, 4th year with Bear, things like that don't matter.....Focus on potential and years 8-10, then you'll see.....Ignore the 2-9 record last nine games, and 1-3 home stand too, we are playing "meaningful games" we are hitting our goals:)

I put this more on the coaching staff honestly. We are half way through the season and I'm still trying to figure out what this teams identity is. We just sort of exist on the ice most nights. Power play is a joke even when they score, we don't play physical, no real offense from the blue line despite having some guys that should produce, and we are undisciplined.

Edit: I say this as a Sharks fan too. The Sharks suck but they are way more entertaining to watch and, at least by my eye, the effort is there they just lack enough talent to win compared to Utah most night. That's on the coaching staff

Wait till next year. We have a couple of Russians that are going to save the day. You have Celebrini and Smith, Utah has Simashev and But.

Pot calling the kettle black:)
I don't dream of things like that, my dreams are much more interesting.

I just did a little math, we need to get 68% of our remaining points in the next 39 games to have 96 points, ballpark minimum we will need to make the playoffs. 68% of the points would be 4th best in the NHL based on first half of year. Making the playoffs would be "meaningful" but its a very long shot right now.
