Official 2024-25 Utah HC Season Discussion.

  • Work is still on-going to rebuild the site styling and features. Please report any issues you may experience so we can look into it.
I'll take a stab at his comments before the interview:

"We are happy with the rebuild, rebuilds take time, Bear is doing a great job, we are happy with the progress of the team and our young players, Sergi has been great, injuries on D have hurt us, we aren't sellers at TDL but always looking to improve the club long term, we want to be playing meaningful games the next few months".

That's funny. I predicted that you'd say something very similar to this before I even posted the link. I guess we both get to split time being Captain Obvious. :sarcasm:

Still waiting for you to share something that supports any of your arguments - that the rebuild should be going faster and also what set standard you're using when you say BA needs to be held accountable. What and who are you comparing to come to your conclusions? Some examples of it being done better or something.

Don't just keep telling us, show us! Otherwise you'll keep on sounding like Charlie Brown's teacher.

Listen to the podcast, outside of vets helping young guys and 1 point in or out of the playoffs, My advance take was spot on! I loved the TDL comment, "its up to the players", so if they play well he gets help, if not trade away.....

I hope we are 1 point in or out, we only need to be a top 8 club to do that rest of the way, Go BA:)

Don't make me post Charlie Brown's Teacher Speaking again!

Anderson, Provorov, Fowler, Carrier for starters. We are too late, BA has a plan but lacks agility when faced with disruptors. This is common with inexperienced leaders. BA made some big mistakes this year. Will he hang or will Armstrong and Smith chalk it up to a learning lesson.

And yes I would be calling daily to Buffalo as they will be trading one of there Dmen.
And how do you know that BA is not working the phones to gauge trade posibilities - including with Buffalo?
Maybe the asking prices are too high, maybe it's like the Sergachev Situation where interesting players just aren't available and BA can't do anything more than sewing seeds for future trades right now?
Armchair GMing is easy...

Time to judge, criticise or give out compliments are at years end, not every five game span. The NHL season is long, it's a marathon not a sprint.

12th longest tenured GM and 5th longest tenured coach, year 5 of no playoffs unless we start killing it quickly, seems normal to me:)

Well, 5.5 years is the average lifespan of a GM in the NHL.

I can't see another GM coming in and doing anything differently than I expect BA to do over the next two seasons. We've got a prospect pipeline like we've never had before and an absolute arsenal of trade capital (also like we've never had before.) I think he'd just end up getting credit for all the things BA has set in motion.

Playoffs right now or not, this team has never been in such good shape. Any GM would have a wet dream over finishing what BA has started, so I'd rather just give him more time to see it through himself.

If GMBA's rebuild a bust, then UtHC should start trading away their recent top picks? 21 yo Dylan Guenther, consider GMBA's 1st pick in which he had to trade for? Logan Cooley, the actual awarded franchise 1st? Rebuilding through the draft and evaluating before your 1st top draft picks aren't out of their ELCs yet and their other recent top draft prospects that are not currently under contract.

I rather see how Tij, Dan, Dmitri, as well as others, progress in the NHL before evaluating GMBA! (Looking forward to a Simashev/Lamoureux 3rd pairing). Will those 3 make Utah contenders? What needs to be added to next season's roster to make them contenders? Ironically I would say filling in Geekie's and Moser's hypothetical spots. Another question is who needs to be replaced (currently 6 UFAs)?
