Strome has the same PPG % as Schmaltz, which is 0.71PPG, and Strome is a year younger and plays C. Strome on his third team, Schmaltz second. Who would you rather have on your team?
Schmaltz, he is the much better all around player. Strome's years in Chicago he got the benefit of Kane/Cat, they always had to hide him on D. Looks like a great scoring year now, I have not watched him play this year, maybe his D game is better now.

Gotta say that if we're not close to the playoff picture this year, I'm calling it quits on AT. Not sure about BA, because I like the players they've drafted and/or brought in (Sergachev/Durzi)

I'd like to give a GM at least 5 yrs. The rebuild is on track. Loads of talent in the pipeline. No need to panic.

Guenther was cooking in junior and minors for a long time

He made the team 1 yr post draft and was then sent down mid season (good decision IMO).

Doesn't seem like a long time. Nearly every prospect is NOT ready for the NHL before age 20.

Schmaltz and it’s not really even close… stat boy.
That's fine, it's your opinions and I understand it as Schmaltz works well with Keller, but Strome is a C not a small soft winger who gets hurt every year. Both have there warts for sure. Not saying I would pick Strome over Schmaltz, but it would require a long look at how Strome's game is currently.

Schmaltz isn't soft, Strome is soft, Schmaltz did play some C. Unless Strome is somehow better on D now, Schmaltz is the clear pick.

Still, now is the first time that Guenther has a full time NHL roster spot, and now is his D+4 Season. Seems to me like a long time, but feel free to disagree

I think management, and I mean ownership forcing managements hand, choosing Keller as captain over him is what’s affecting Crouse. This shit matters to the players more than fans realize.

Crouse letting the captaincy get the best of him? I seriously doubt that! I'm sure it's the new baby! Some people will take bringing in a newborn as a reflection of morality, commitment and obligation, and may even be overwhelmed by it! And going on long road trips and not being there can lead to a dilemma for a 1st time father. To me it doesn't show a lack of character, but a strength of character. It is the life he chosed, and he'll have to deal with it, but to berate him for being obsessed with the child??? I'd give him until the beginning of the new year to snap out of it before becoming too concern!

He has a newborn, so that might be a factor, but it's noticeable how little he's contributing. Is he even playing on the penalty kill anymore?
Stop with the excuses.

Crouse is getting paid plenty to do a job. DO IT. Most of us had kids and had to work the next day, or same day. You can be obsessed with a child AND your job. Again, stop with these stupid excuses. Crouse is not doing his job this year, simple as that. Having said that I don't understand why AT does not put Maccelli and Crouse line back together again as it was our best line many nights last year. AT has to get Crouse going.

Excuses.
Ok, let me go yell at Crouse for you.

In all seriousness though, I did say it may be a factor, not 100% the reason. He and the staff likely are doing what they can to make changes to his game where necessary. He doesn't need to be told his job may be at risk if he doesn't turn it around. There are up and coming new players on the horizon and current icetime is always in play. He's getting less time with Maccelli, so he needs to figure something out.
