Biggest reason to avoid Dubas like the plague, as good as he is at identifying spare parts, he thought Murray was a viable option for $4.6 million. Dorion is a moron for signing him to that initial deal, but Dubas is a bigger Moron for taking him off our hands. I hope Dubas stays in Toronto and signs Matthews and Marner to even more inflated deals.

Ottawa loser town mentality on full display in this thread. I've lived here since the early 80s and continue to be astounded by this duckburg's inferiority complex.
So you're saying you are at least 40 years old, had a HF boards account for 3 1/2 years and posted 11 times in that period. But you now feel they need to come on and level that criticism? You got issues my man.

Gotta be tough spending 40 years wishing he lived in Toronto

Good on Dubas for having a good run in T.O. - I like his values and integrity. Don't ever want the Leafs to win on a fan level, but it doesn't make sense to me these new generation GM's get pushed put after brining such massive cultural changes to NHL hockey for the better - and under the headlines Dubas is fired we have Quenneville rejoining the league after he was forced to retire for knowingly allowing one of his coaches to rape his player. The NHL does have a problem with their old school mentality and abusive coaches 0 Dubas helped with that and the culture of the NHL. If Dubas won a Cup, everyone would have done what Toronto did to match a winning culture and moved to progressive and fair values in hiring and fan relatinships.

anyways, good like to Dubas. Seems like a good guy, I like him and the NHL needs more Kyle Dubas's.

The Dubas firing is the beginning of the end in Toronto. They'll bring in Mark Hunter or some other old boy who won't mind Shanahan meddling in everything, and they'll start falling apart as their core splits up and drifts away. Dubas did everything he could to surround that group with the help they needed, and they coughed up a fur ball again anyway. Dubas will be more than fine - he'll get a job elsewhere with greater autonomy, either this year or next. (If I had to guess, I bet he goes on TV for a year, then takes a job next year.) I wouldn't hate having him here, TBH, if the timing works out. Having Dubas come here and beat the Leafs would be the perfect troll move...
