Seems like Matthews isn't playing at the same level as Tkachuk or other high priced talent around the league. Huge expectations on this guy and if he doesn't meet them he could be taking the UP Express out of town for a boatload of players!

Keefe calling Nylander the best player on the ice when they lost is very on brand for this version of the Leafs.

Pat Quinn would have benched Nylander for Laurie Bauschman

Are you arguing he wasn't?

He seemed really dangerous most of the night. Hard on the puck, using speed and creating his own shot.

I hope they take 10 penalties and really get the reffing is against us mantra going.

Nylander is that soft guy who doesn’t do it in the crunch until he isn’t. He needs to do something big for the Leafs franchise for all his soft play and not showing up to change his reputation.

I wonder how many thought trading Huberdeau for M. Tkachuk was a good deal for Florida & now we see in the playoffs why it was done & the value of M. Tkachuk. The Leafs have the same problem & need a Tkachuk type player in their top six, hopefully they never get one. We have one & hopefully he turns out to be as good for us in the playoffs as Mathew.

This is so hilarious, Leaf’s are such a mamas-boy fanbase, suck it Dart Guy.

You’re waiting to criticize your team until the off-season. Set your watch to 9:30pm Wednesday night.

It’s been my biggest gripe with the way Dubas built the Leafs for years. Buttery soft top 6 and an awful bottom 6

They are built for the regular season and not the playoffs

leafs fans we’re right 7 years ago, they should of traded Nylander for a top pairing Dman - they haven’t and since they decided to stick with Soft-lander they are trying to compensate in the rest of the lineup for his inability to play hard

Its a shame he saved it all up for Florida.

Yup told the same thing to my Leaf buddies. Granted Nylander has vastly improved since then but they need D bad

He was pretty good in Calgary too, but that team just fell apart, he had 104 pts last yr & 109 pts this yr.
No doubt about regular season for sure. I meant in the Playoffs. He was very underwhelming for a guy that carried his reputation, but he's certainly earning it in Florida. I guess even guys with jam need to figure it out.

New Jersey is an example of a young team that are being forced to figure it out under fire, that could be us next spring in our first playoff series in yrs. The playoffs are different than the regular season. it's said every yr & we can see how much more difficult every round is & how difficult it is to knock a team out of it, if you let up for a second. You can also see what kind of players can thrive in the playoffs & which ones struggle with the pressure, the forechecking & the increase in hard hitting.
