At about 11pm tonight - Sens fans and Leafs fans will be united and in agreement of their disdain for the Torana Maple Leaves. One of my favourite days on the sports calendar.

Great memories. Was a very fine moment to be a Sens fan. Take aways from this clip:

Paul Maclean coached some exciting Sens teams. His smirk on the bench when the dust settles was awesome

Sens could use a player like Brandon Dubinsky in their bottom 6. Sens need someone crazier than Brady Tkachuk to do the rats work.

John Torteralla’s team got outmuscled. Don’t see that very often or ever. Torts won the series his way - Ottawa only scored 3 goals total games 6 and 7. Respect Torts as a coach, but also Maclean for having his team so amped up they would do anything

I'm not sure what bothers me more. The Leafs getting over the hump or having to watch the spoiled Bolts fans potentially get more hardware. I think I dislike these two teams equally at this point.

I cant wrap my head around disliking a team like tampa relative to the leafs. Tampa does everything right thats why they got here. Very likeable team too, opposite of Toronto.

Yes, but having the luxury of being in Florida and having no winter, and no state tax, and having an organization that fields a (beyond) cap team to compete....hellishly hard to compete with that.

Pretty hard not to be jealous when you have a team with so many built-in bonuses that we'll never have, no matter who owns the Sens or what the city, province and fans do.

I mean, that's mostly subjective and I find Girodano and O'Reilly likable players they've added, but for me its just too much winning and our rivalry with them having died out. I get tired of teams that win a couple chips and keep hanging in there. Would rather see someone else win.

That's a really good point. Ending their streak by continuing ours (iirc, we have a bit of a run of losing to them) would be a horrible mental block to put on a new core.

They're good because they draft and develop well and treat people right. They have great pro scouting. If Ottawa did that stuff better they would be better.

The sens are run by a used car salesman that will stab you in the back that doesn't evaluate pro talent very well. If you're going to be jealous be jealous that Tampa is run properly and we're being screwed by an amateur. I pray that new ownership replaces Dorion with someone that will bring some integrity and lead this organization.

That too, but at least we're in the process of getting rid of the used car salesman.

Only way we can fix everything else is for climate change to go into overdrive and make us a tropical resort...but then the rest of the planet would be an inferno and I doubt anyone will care about hockey then.
