He's a strong kid, not a great skater. He needs alot of work but has the tools to be a hard nosed 3rd liner.

Basically how I was viewing him as well. I don't think the Rangers have that kind of player in the system. Someone who will drive a guy through the boards do send a message. He seems to embrace the physical aspect of the game in the way guys like Chris Neil and Shawn Thornton do.

Agreed

Anyone have any thoughts on Keegan Iverson as a 3rd round target? I think he's a borderline 3rd/4th rounder, but I doubt he'd be around when we pick in the 4th unless we moved around a bit. Like the attitude and his love for physical play. I think there's a nice package of raw talent that can be molded. Skating leaves a bit to be desired, but it's not bad.

I could see that kid line going earlier than expected. Turgeon has tremendous upside and Iverson has a good chance to translate what you see now to the NHL. Both of them have untapped offense in them.

Agreed, a little muscle goes a long way on the Rangers these days.

Agreed, they'll both go higher than you would think.

Turgeon, so many tools, nice size, family bloodlines, but not very consistent. Could see him breakout next year.

Turgeon is as good as any second rounder.

His consistency was dependent on a stacked forward lineup keeping him out of prime opportunity and the fact that he wasn't a good skater in the beginning of the year. He's come a long way and his puck possession + physicality (go figure, Dad) will make him very attractive as you usually don't find that mix.

Only the final four move. We stay at 18, unless we make the conference finals.

If we keep our 1st, Larkin, Kempe, Honka, Scherbak and Barbashev are my choices.

Interesting. This must be something new. Used to be only the last 4 teams alive dropped to 27-30. Everyone else stayed put, except for the team that won the lottery got to jump up by as many as 4 slots.

That site is incorrect. Even if TB gets our pick, the best it would be is 27, since the final four get moved down.

So if we do lost our 1st if we make it to the ECF, where do we go from there?

Trade back into the 1st round?

Thats a big IF right now, but again, what assets are you willing to part with that teams would want to trade a 1st rounder for ?

Of course it's a huge if, just something to talk about.

Not sure.......want to wait to get around draft day to see what the market is like.
