What has any place in this discussion? I was saying that no one has supported any kind of leniency or tolerance towards this person. It's safe to say that we are basically 100% anti this person, praising of the police response to reduce further tragedy and hopeful for the speedy recover of all victims. When I speak of using positive emotions to combat this evil, I speak of forming even stronger bonds with all of the ethnicities and religions that find these actions deplorable. Muslims have marched in greater protest against ISIS than North Americans ever have and it's found little traction in most media. These attacks are meant to divide our nations into greater turmoil and we defeat that by finding greater unity.

Sorry, I misread the meaning of your post. I thought you referring to the suspect, not a large group of people that have a similar faith. Ethnicity and Religion bare no consequence or association to this for me. You're talking about the "different situation" that I implied there with this stuff....which I added to try to avoid confusion.

That cop is one tough hombre. I take my hat off to him and salute him. He got bounced 10 feet in the air and then was jumped on and repeatedly stabbed by that piece of shit sub-human. Everyone around that cop scurried away like frightened rats and the cop had to fight the scum off by himself while likely being dazed and battered from just being plowed into by that vehicle attack... yet he still manages to recover and fight hard enough to break free and get up and the attacker runs away like the cowardly scum he is.

It's just too bad the cop wasn't able to put a bullet in the head of that piece of crap right there and then as the subsequent attack with the U-Haul would then never have transpired and more people would have been saved from serious injury.

I applaud the EPS and RCMP. This definitely could have been a much worse incident with many more injuries and lives lost but it looks like they stopped the scum before he could do even more damage last night.

Yep I agree with all of this although I heard it was 15 feet.;)

The one odd thing is that I really didn't get any notification on my phone until 1pm yesterday.

Wouldn't one think that if there was a terrorist attack that the news apps would've been pushing notifications a lot sooner?

Absolutely tragic what happened in vegas, honestly didn't think it was true when I saw the article, shocking that anyone can do what they did here, let alone open fire on a mass crowd...

They just played a clip on the radio. It's messed up the singing continued as they really had no idea what was going on. I guess at first a lot of people thought it was fireworks.

Ya, even Jason Aldean kept singing for a good 10 seconds before running off stage. The one video showed a lineup of ambulances as far as you could see, gave my family an extra long hug before I started my day.

Anyone else ready to give up on mankind? I'm pretty ****ing close I tell you.

I already have awhile ago. These things(tragedies) don't even affect me emotionally anymore. Just Ho-Hum, another day, another shooting. It's horrible to think this way but I'm at that point now. Humans suck.

Actually, I'm glad he didn't fire a gun. As you can see, there was a ton of civilians around and chances of him hitting him with a bullet is slim. Better off chasing him and catching him than a stray bullet hitting a civilian. He did the right thing, as much as it pains to see.

I have to give EPS ALOT of credit for apprehending the suspect without shooting him to death. I can fully understand the desire to do the latter, but doing the former shows the quality of the training, imo.

Canadian police officers are amazing for the most part. They don't shoot as a first option even in dangerous situations. They don't call 5 squad cars and fear for their lives when they pull over one person mainly a minority for some minor violation. They respond with respect even when they are disrespected or talked down to. Their jobs are tough and appreciate putting themselves on the line for simpletons like us who would be to scared to fight back in the best of times but he was run over and still able to get the suspect a fight.

Great job to all the men and women of the EPS.

Agreed. Goes to show you how tough they are and how they follow the protocol to the T. Huge respect for them.

It's sad that this isn't an uncommon feeling these days. I say that as an unfortunate reality, not to criticize those who feel that way. With how common mass causality events are becoming and the 24 hour news cycle, it's hard not to become desensitized to a degree.

When you see things that hit close to home or acts of unconscionable terror like the shooting on Las Vegas' strip last night though... it just makes you weep for humanity. Sad times we're living in.

Would just like to point out just because you dont agree with an ideology doesnt make you racist. Race is the way your born, ideological thinking is something you choose to believe in. If you dont support an ideology its discrimination not racism. Now in saying that I truly hope that this isnt a terrorist event.

Not according to our Prime Minister. You can be forced into idealogical thinking and then be paid out for your actions.
