Completely agreed. You said that he was "supported" by Isis but was a lone participant. Nothing was inflammatory or "making excuses" at all.In what ****ing way am I making excuses? The police chief straight up said he was acting alone.
If calling him a lone wolf means I am making excuses for this piece of **** than you need to get your crazy checked.
It's hard to not become disillusioned and give up a little with something so heart wrenching but all the more reason to respond with resilience and love because it's the only way we can, and anyone ever has, overcome the sickness/evil in this world. Let's respond to every act with hate with twice as much love and never let them accomplish their aim.I hope everyone injured makes a full recovery. The world just makes my heart sink.
Also let's not turn this into hate of the Muslim community. This was an act carried out by an individual who may support a terrorist group. Especially because we know nothing about the guy.
Last edit: Changing our ways, living in fear and persecuting, attacking or hating Muslims is exactly what people like this want. Doing those things is them winning. Killing or hurting us isn't their goal. Terrorists want to incite terror, if we don't give them that they lose.
Can we all just stick to what happened and not go crazy or start speculating or anything.
-Apparent ISIS supported committed this badly done terror attack
-No one was killed
-Was a lone wolf
That's all we know at this point. Anything else is speculating or letting anger and fear take over, which is literally letting the terrorist win. **** this guy, **** ISIS.

If they fought it in court they probably lose and pay out more. Which is why they settled.
I agree and that was my point. Saying he had an Isis flag gives a headline to every media outlet in the world. This guy could have been born and raised here for all we know like the guy in Ottawa. Maybe the cops want the good publicity for how well they handled it who knows.Probably about time that people start labelling these acts, and this wave of “terrorism” itself, as the pathetic, cowardly and desperate actions of mentally ill loners who will buy into any propaganda in order to find a purpose. This isn’t some expertly masterminded worldwide network of sleeper cells. This is a small number of people whose names should be scrubbed from the media and forgotten asap, while they sit in prison for life. Don’t give me this garbage about fighting this with love and caring and education and second chances and pumping up their religion and demonizing the bigots, and all those things that make you feel like you’re changing the world for the better. Because you’re not. Don’t inflame things where there doesn’t need to be a debate. Just deal with it and let it be done.
Don't know why that would be outrageous though. It's been labelled a terrorism attack and thus affiliations have been identified. Whether that's a flag in the car or a known sympathizer, isn't it already implying the exact same thing?
Sure whether we see it or not it it is confirmed by a trusted source (Police chief) it does confirm the act and/or affiliation. But my point was that did we really need for the police chief to actually bring out and show the public the flag for us to believe it was in there. Its not like he was going to drive down to the active crime scene remove a critical piece of evidence and display it infront of a few reporters at 3am just to satisfy those who have a mind set of "I didn't see it so it didn't happen/not real."
The last thing that the police would want would be hate crimes and civil unrest. I see zero reason why the chief would lie about it because in doing so he could put citizens and officers lives in jeopardy. Regardless, it was one ass hat, a loser, not an act conducted by a half dozen organized individuals with brains (albeit misguided ones) thank goodness that wasn't the case.
I have it on very good authority that the officer that was ran over and stabbed has been released from hospital and is home resting with his family. Tough as nails.
Good authority, like this article from the CBC?

That's incredible and good to hear. I hope the other 4 people injured aren't in bad shapeI have it on very good authority that the officer that was ran over and stabbed has been released from hospital and is home resting with his family. Tough as nails.
More like personal connections in EPS, but being an ass about it is a route you could definitely take.
