So currently there are looking at possibly putting entire Greater Helsinki region (or the Uusimaa region, to be precise) under quarantine, and block travel to other parts of the country. This is not just a rumour, government has said they are looking into it as one option. That would block my plan to go to my cottage, but I pretty much already decided that I'm not gonna be the asshole that potentially spreads the virus by moving around Finland.

I'm going to blow my brains out from boredom sitting at home doing jack shit. At least before when I wasn't working I had the gym and could go out and hang out with friends. A man can only binge watch so much tv and play so many video games.

f*** there being no sports.

I feel you. I had to dust off the Super NES and played a little NHLPA 93. Nieuwendyk and MacInnis led the boys to the 93 championship over Neely, Bourque and the Bruins. I celebrated by drinking whiskey.

Way too many obviously single people on here complaining about being bored.
Y'all need wives to find stuff for you to do and keep you otherwise occupied and thus remind you how great solitude can be.

Then go hang out with friends. (Assuming you and they are not legally required to self isolate).

What I have heard some people are doing is driving to empty parking lots, bringing snacks and drinks and standing a solid 10-15 feet away (extra careful for social distancing purposes) from each other and just kinda chatting with each other campfire style. In case it's not obvious enough, don't share food or break that 10-15 feet meter barrier.

If they can't leave, Skype or FaceTime with them. Get that face to face contact without leaving the house.

From what I understand It's not the same for many people. They need the real face to face. That's why it seems the parking lot meet ups are a thing.

1. Skype beers is a thing.
2. Take a course - lots of free / reduced price options for online courses. (coursera for example)
3. What @Rubi said

With my parents being older we have chose to be very careful. Often we will bring our own coffee and sit on opposite sides of their open air patio and will likely do more of this as it gets warmer. 4 people sitting 15 feet apart presents almost no risk when the chairs are disinfected with bleach water.

Face-to-face just needs to be done smarter with thoughts towards disinfecting the items that are touched. The hardest part for my wife is not being able to touch her grandson but that's just the price for distancing properly.

NOTE: I have a little one on top of having the spouse.

This most likely happens today, pending Parliament vote after *all kinds of political stuff thats going on I cant be bothered to explaing because it would be too difficult*

Anyway, this shouldnt affect everyday life that much for me, working from home for the third week I guess and staying inside other than once or twice a week visit to supermarket. Just goes on showing how serious things are here, or how drastic measures government is willing to take.

I cancelled my cable TV sports package this week, I had to spend too much time explaining that if there are no games in March, I should not be paying anything. Finally they understood and I dont have to pay anything, also got a bit better deal on my phone/internet as a compensation.

I'm supposed to be in sunny California rn...

Oh well, I guess Calgary is alright.

Don't judge guys, I don't usually have the money to travel :(

Air Canada finally canceled my flight from Phoenix to Calgary. No refund but they're giving me a credit valid for 24 months. One day I will get to your damn barn for The Battle.

Keep your hands clean, Calgary. Forever washing here in Phoenix.

I had a flight to go over to Asia next month and I opted to get 50% of my money back instead of a travel credit of close to the full amount. If i known it was valid for 24 months and not the 12 months that they initially offered I might have taken it instead... Oh well

Until the flight was canceled they were offering to refund around $60 in fees only or a credit valid until 12/31. I was hoping Air Canada would do the right thing and provide a refund upon cancellation but the credits between Air Canada & StubHub will fund a trip to a Flames game sometime in the next 2 years.

Funny thing is if you took the refund minus $60, that loss would have cancelled itself out and a then some with how the exchange rate's crashed when you do repurchase the tickets!

Wait, that's not funny.

Does it take 8 hours for anyone else to get their posts to process now? This new server blows.
