Is that Charlie's ex Bree Olson? And for the folks at work, don't Google that name.

It looks a lot like her. Good call RP

Boba needs this.

I should buy that shirt for my woman. She can wear it when I wear my Cat Rushmore shirt

Well, if she is one in the photo stuffing her mouth, it would make sense as she is no stranger to having it full.

As mentioned previous, do not google it at work as she is in the same prestigious profession as the legendary Peter North.

RP is talking about the bridge (at least I think he is)

Lions were sleeping, one upside down (no lie...sleeping on it's back, with it's hind legs up in the air).

Tiger exhibit was closed for some reason.

Didn't get to see the leopard...that was near the end of the day and I wasn't going to backtrack to find it...that's the only cats I remember on the map.

They have jaguars and a snow leopard, too. Last time I saw the jaguars they were up, pacing around, and vocalizing even.

On the other hand, the snow leopard was sleeping on some rocks at the back of the exhibit.

Edit:
Err, the cool jaguars were at The Living Desert, I think.

I didn't see the jaguars...nor the snow leopard. That zoo is confusing, you can sure miss little off ramps to get to some of the animals. I blew off the snow leopard because we were too tired by that time, having walked the zoo for four hours and even though yesterday wasn't so bad, we were exhausted.

Old people, LOL

If the business thread were around, I would post this there

The Dow fell 588.47 points, or 3.6 percent, to 15,871.28. The S&P 500 index slid 77.68 points, or 3.9 percent, to 1,893.21. The Nasdaq composite shed 179.79 points, or 3.8 percent, to 4,526.25 points. The three indexes are down for the year.

"There is a lot of fear in the markets," said Bernard Aw, market strategist at IG.

The sell-off triggered worries in corporate boardrooms, in government capitals and among ordinary Americans young and old who have been saving for retirement or a down payment on a house.

Heightened concern about a slowdown in China had already shaken markets around the world on Friday, driving the U.S. stock market sharply lower. The rout continued Monday as China's main stock index sank 8.5 percent.

The Dow plummeted 1,089 points within the first four minutes of trading as traders dumped shares. But the fire sale was short-lived. A wave of buying cut the Dow's losses by half just five minutes later.

The U.S. market slide was broad. The 10 sectors in the S&P 500 headed lower, with energy stocks recording the biggest decline, 5.2 percent, amid a continued slump in the price of oil. The sector is down almost 25 percent this year.

Buying opportunity

Holy crap!

I laughed all the way through this page until I saw the stock market info and realized my entire retirement is based around owning a ton of stock in one of the oil industries top dawgs. In for a penny and if things keep going this way out for a penny too. Oh well still laughing my fool butt off at the cat memes. Thanks for the laughs!

From our past talks and an educated guess on my part you aren't old enough for this to hurt you. Buy and hold works as a retirement strategy because you buy more shares for less than later grow and pay dividends.

The chart has the 2 types of investing. Buy and hold and buy and sell/ market timing.

The problem with market timing is that people are wrong more than they are right.

If you bought and held and we use 2008 as an example, you were buying 200 shares for $125, then $130, then $145, , $150 , etc that grew all the way back to $325

make sense?

Why avoid oil? Think it'll still drop? I heard $35 a barrel is the expected floor.

I think oil is artificially high and has been for a little while.

That being said

$35 is probably a good time to buy

Avoiding oil would be a mistake. It doesn't matter if it goes into the low $3X.XXs (which I think it will); it only matters where it's come from. It's completely fallen off a cliff over the last year and that's putting it lightly. If it goes back up to $100 (which it will eventually) you are looking at a 285% return. Absolute no brainer.

I don't like Wal Mart from a stock standpoint. It hasn't done much and I believe it has plateaued historically at the 75 range. I guess it really depends on your goals though. Wanna short sale it? It could work. Wanna ride it out long term and have it in your portfolio? Meh. Not something I see a giant return on and I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

I'd be all over Apple right now. In the last month it has dropped about 22%. They're going back to 13X.XX eventually and are entering their best time of the year. This is a highly accessible price for arguably the biggest company on the planet.
