Looks as full as the Honda center in the middle of a Ducks game.

lol - the Times said there were 200 people there. Listening to sports talk radio yesterday they made it sound like there was this huge rally of Ram fans. Kroenke and the Ram officials had to be a little shocked/nervous at the tiny turnout. Then again, rank and file attendance isn't where they plan to make their money so maybe they don't care.

Stadium looks like a beacon of light in an ocean of diarrhea. Seems about right. Inglewood... :shakehead

Well said, but I do like that the new stadium will be privately financed. I think Uncle Phil and AEG had a much smarter location and plan though in terms of further leveraging downtown LA and the surrounding real estate.

AEG did a great service to the city of Los Angeles in helping to rejuviate that area of the city. The football stadium they had proposed would have only improved it more.

I don't think there are enough NFL games in a season to have the same impact on Inglewood. We'll see how smart Kronke is in all of this. I think Uncle Phil has grown to love owning the Kings, but make no mistake, for him buying the Kings was initially all about the real estate deal.

Not a fan of colored hats. I'll need to pick up a black one.

I like this (in the style of the Seahawks one I have which I love), but that logo is awful.

why a black hat when the team doesn't wear black? I'll never understand this.

A few years ago I picked up a StL Rams hat for a few bucks at an office fundraiser, but only after I confirmed that I could remove the "St Louis" with a blade.

The size of the StL name was pretty small, almost like they designed it so L.A. Rams fans could take it off.

Now I can toss it.

The register article says 100 fans. Not a strong showing.

I wanted to see the Cardinals beat the Packers, but now that I'm a Rams fan, am I supposed to dislike the Cardinals?

You can root for whoever you want this season and once your team is out of the playoffs

Found these in my book Uncle John's Second Bathroom Reader and thought they may be of interest.

Los Angeles Rams. When they were founded in Cleveland in 1937, the team's owner resisted public pressure to call his club the Indians, after the local baseball team. Instead, he named them after a college football team - the Fordham Rams. In 1945, the Rams became the first N.F.L. franchise to switch cities when they moved to L.A.

Los Angeles Raiders. Originally located in Oakland, California, the team was first called the "Metropolitan Oakland Area Football Club." That was too unwieldy, so the Oakland Chamber of Commerce held a contest to find a new one. The winner: the "Oakland Senors." The team's reaction "Forget it." The owners came up with the "Raiders" on their own.

That's pretty interesting stuff. I knew about the Fordham Rams connection, but none of the others.

Another interesting fact: the league initially voted down the Cleveland Rams' request to move. Then the owner retaliated, saying he would bankrupt the team and quit the game altogether. The league capitulated and let him move his team to Los Angeles. Can you imagine some owner doing that today? The rest of the league would tell him to pound sand. But things were different in 1945-46.

I completely forgot about the Rams' tickets going on sale this morning, until about 90 minutes later. Then I found out they weren't tickets at all, but deposits for season tickets at the Coliseum.

It took me over an hour, but I finally got through on the website on the iPhone...never could get in through the computer. Put my deposit of $100 down and I am way down the priority list, but I'm not sure it matters anyway. Don't see how I can (presently) afford both Kings' and Rams' season tickets, unless I get bleeders for the Rams. Even then, might be a stretch.

Well, the deposit is refundable, so it's a "can't lose" proposition anyway.

I don't want an NFL team here. It feels like we're taking someone's rejects. Frankly I think we're doing alright with the Dodgers, Kings, Lakers, Galaxy, Clippers, and even the Sparx(do they still exist?). I just don't really have any interest in an NFL team here. Probably an unpopular opinion but oh well. It'll be good for Inglewood which may become the next part of LA to get gentrified. It just seems like another team all the LA media can use to continue glossing over the Kings. I'm going to remain an Eagles fan.

I don't think they are too concerned. They had secured 8,000 season ticket deposits before 11:00 a.m.

8,000 make $100 deposit for Rams tickets

It took me over an hour to finally make my deposit, but that was about 12:30 p.m.

We will see Rams jerseys on Sundays in SoCal now instead of 49ers, Packers, Patriots, Eagles jerseys or whatever popular team there is. You wonder what the **** their connection is with that certain team.

I don't. Those are 99% transplants and 1% bandwaggoners (there is that term again). :sarcasm::popcorn:

I'm really burned out hearing the word bandwagoner. It's so exhausting hearing it. Anyone who uses that word isn't very sharp.

:D That is interesting too. I wonder what would happen? Would said owner still retain rights to the team? What if a rival league formed? Could they leave?
