His concert Saturday night.

Ahhh- of course.

Yeah- every time I see any live performance by BJ- it just sounds awful.

And I looked at the setlist for Saturday- man, I would have been really disappointed in it had I been there- looks like he left out a ton of old classics that everyone surely wants to hear.

Seems like the good songs were all during the encore.

Was it at Bridgestone?

Idk about country music, but any rock concerts I've seen there have been pretty poorly mixed and too loud. Mind you I'm a lifelong drummer and I've seen death metal bands at small venues like Exit/In so it's not like I'm just sensitive to excessive noise.

The Bridgestone audio is just too loud and it harms the clarity of the music, I feel this way about Preds games too, just over the top loud that needs to be dialed back a bit and it didn't used to be that way. Municipal isn't that way.

Stepmom is visiting us for the first time since we moved, always fun being a tourist in your own area!

Born just in time for playoffs. We’ve got one more fan on the bandwagon this year!

I spent the weekend in Nashville, just flew back to Columbus. It's so weird comparing these cities. Columbus metro has a 10% larger population, but Nasville has 100% more square miles than Columbus and yet downtown Nashville seems 10x as big as Columbus. I realize I was there on a playoff nite right across the street at Bourbon Steak, but it was a madhouse for blocks. Even today I tried to get to Peg Leg BBQ in The Gulch and couldn't sniff a parking spot. Makes Columbus seem so much more "boring". But I couldn't live in downtown Nashville. I live near the arena downtown in Columbus, but the area around yours would be a bit much for me. But if I were just out of college or before I turned 30.....maybe?

Great people, and the meals at Bourbon Steak and Henrietta Red were out of this world.

Thinking about coming down and checking out the Renaissance Fair this weekend. The wife even ordered us costumes and everything.... As a friend of mine's said, we are becoming "those people"

FWIW, I understand that since it's owned by Williamson Co parks now there are no liquor sales on site. They could have gotten a special permit since I read this a month or so back.

RenFair is fun, though. My kids used to go a lot and I took my Accounting friend and the granddaughter in 2019 and had a blast.

I know this will make me come across like an alcoholic but I just can't get behind the event this year given Williamson County runs it now which means no alcohol sales. Throwing back flagons of water while watching Axel the Sot just doesn't work.

I'm sure this is not a problem for most though and hope you have a good time if you go. Seems they actually had capacity issues over the weekend and had to turn people away so obviously folks like me are in the minority. Hope you made it in ok.

I usually go to the Ren fair, once a season to shop mostly. The shows haven’t changed in years. The liability insurance needed to serve alcohol is pricey and the county just got the rights to the fair in March/April. They may have it back next year.

We actually did not go this past weekend, We are going to go this coming weekend. The no alcohol thing will be an annoyance it is nice to be able to walk around with your mug as you enjoy the day. I can't even imagine Axel the Sot without requisite liquor. That dude is horribly inappropriate and insanely funny.

Apparently it's a county wide thing. They just don't allow alcohol at county run events. Maybe (hopefully) they'll change the rule for next year.
