Which of the 3 would you trade:King, Clifford or Nolan?

Personally, I'd trade King for the simple fact that I think he has the most trade value. Besides, I like both Nolan and Clifford better than King. Big bodied softy isn't my ideal type of player.

Eh Nolan played himself out of roster spot, That's a feat with how simple his game needs to be.

Clifford played well in the WCF/Finals, but his production needs to tick up BIG TIME. Clifford and Lewis are a big reason the bottom six is a black-hole for production. They both need to provide much more on the offense.

King is fine, He had by far the most even strength points for cap hit production. Unless Pearson is going to replace King as the third line LW (which he won't due to Pearson being a top six talent) there is no replacement in Manchester for him.

Frankly I would like to see the bottom six revamped entirely, Clifford/Lewis/Nolan all gone.

When they first brought up Nolan and King, I thought Nolan had more upside and liked his game better
But Sutter likes King and has put him in a position to exceed, like playing on the first line for awhile. He's played more games.
I can't see all 3 being kept and I'm guessing since of the 3, Nolan would be the one to go. But I actually would keep him over the other 2.

Bingo. I agree 100%. Plus, he is due a raise, just based on his regular season totals.
However, since December, his totals went way down. He is soft and has somehow
slowed down 2 steps from 2 years ago. He is not a bad player, he's just not very good
at anything and average. I bet Andreoff could play 3rd line LW and make a greater impact physically and just as good offensively.

Why give him that raise to 1.5 to 2.0 or whatever and just let Andreoff battle for that
at his salary and use the money to extend Muzzin or Martinez or towards Gaborik.
It may be only a million more, but every dollar counts.

Why not explore the #29 overall + King and see if the Kings can get up to
picks 15-20, for a top draft prospect?

Nolan

No contest. He is a penalty machine and Clifford can fight for him

I am with you DS.

Looks like Nolan will be the one moved though. I would rather see Lewis moved in favor of Nolan or King. Clifford is Clifford, I am still trying to figure out where I am on his future game.

You guys want to get rid of the only productive player in the bottom six outside of Williams/Stoll.....

Also keep guys that have proven they cant produce in bottom six roles, or top six roles (Clifford/Lewis).

Yeah, but Clifford and Nolan don't even play the same role as Dwight King so I think it's a bit of an odd comparison.

King has been used in a shutdown role alongside Jarret Stoll and Trevor Lewis on many occasions, while the other two players have been used as energy line players or agitators.

If we want to just compare straight offensive stats King crushes them both in that category as well and it's not even close. He almost doubles up the combined point totals of the two guys.

It just seems like Clifford and Nolan are so close to putting it together. Clifford crashing the crease against NYR and Nolan dropping weight and getting a ton of speed this year.... Want both of them to get it, but moving either one wouldn't surprise me.

Kings isn't going anywhere as long as Sutter is the coach.

I agree. I would rather see us move Lewis over either Nolan or King.

I think some of you guys are overlooking the part where I said, King has the MOST trade value. I'm a firm believer in selling high and buying low. King did have a good season, but once he was removed from the top 6, he was average at best. I highly doubt if King plays top 6 again, which means, he's not going to put up the numbers he put up this year, so, let's move him.

I personally thought Nolan had a great regular season, but somehow found his way out of the lineup in the playoffs.

I would too but that won't happen. Nolan will get moved, I think. Lewis isn't a kid anymore he's turning 28 next year and he's not likley to 'produce' more than he's been capable of. A great PKer' and defensive forward, hustle, energy but that's it.
Clifford's going into his 5th year and has 12 pts per year average. I'm not sure whta the normal output is for 4th line forwards but Sutter said somewhere recently that it will be a very active training camp.

why are we getting rid of any of them?

Probably because the team is getting to the point where the extra guys who don't make the Kings are going to have to be waived to go to Manchester -- Linden Vey, Andy Andreoff, Brayden McNabb, and Andrew Bodnarchuk this upcoming year.

So you get a pick out of him......What does that accomplish ?

The Bottom six is still not productive with Clifford and Lewis down there.

Some of you guys have the wrong idea about Andy, His game has holes in it. It's why he has not even got a cup coffee. At this point he is a slightly better version of Clifford with the stupid penalties intact.

With both Michal Handzus and Wayne Simmonds gone the upward trajectory that Kyle Clifford was riding early in his career has sure taken a nose dive into the ocean.

I vaguely recall some people claiming that Clifford could put up just as good, if not better, numbers than what Wayne Simmonds could produce after that run in the playoffs against the Sharks back in 2010-2011.

The Bottom Six is a big reason why that offense is devoid in the regular season.

The top six for the most part have just as much blame. We have had one 60 point getter over the course of the past 5 years. And that is Kopi every time. Let's hope if Carter can keep the production of those two young wingers up they can all get over that hump. But they are both entering that dreaded sophomore year.

Nolan; I can see him, getting sent to Pittsburgh, due to the latter's need for bottom six upgrades.

I'm gonna repeat ad nauseum why trading Dwight King is a bad idea: I just despise the idea of the Los Angeles Kings, becoming the Cleveland Browns of the NHL, similar to how the latter let go of its former coach Paul Brown. In addition, Dwight is concurrently perfect with on the 3rd line with Jarret and Justin.

I'd be surprised if Nolan wasn't traded.

King fits his role well, and Clifford, while not always productive, turned it up to 11 in the finals. I'd like to keep both of them.

I predict Nolan to Buffalo for a low draft pick.
