If Bales gives a thumbs up to adding Murray, then go for it.

As for the sweetener, my guess is that Adams gets Ottawa to retain a bit and the deal is for FC.

And I would prefer a 2nd over moving up two spots in the 1st. But, I would take the trade up, too.

I mean, considering its 15M in actual cash next two years....retention would certainly be involved.

I mean, he has a full NMC so this is a purely hypothetical discussion. But....two prospects that aren't signing here and a late 1st for a Venzia level goalie signed for 4 more years? The aging curve for goalies is different than forwards. I'd be fine with it.

as I said he is 32 yrs old. I don’t trust players after that point that they will be worth it by the last year of the contract.

#16 + Bjork for #7 + Murray
Bjork has actual value….

First of all, we need a good goalie, no Tkachuk will help us if our goalies are below .90%.
I think adequate goaltending will help a lot. Good goaltending would be nice, but I don't think we're going to be able to get a top-10 goalie in this league. I'd be more keen on getting a solid 1A/1B rotation going via FA/trade, but with the signing of Anderson- I'm a bit worried we may have to over rely on him. I don't view him as an adequate 1B goalie.

So, I am worried about goaltending going into next season, but if we can sign a decent goalie or trade for one- that should help a lot. Remember- a lot of our losses came while we had a ton of injuries in net. We *shouldn't* see that piss poor of goaltending next year if we can stay relatively healthy in net AND if Adams can address the depth which, to be honest- I worry about.

Goaltending is definitely a big priority. But even during that stretch of injuries they lost winnable games where they got really good goaltending out of UPL and couldn't score. I'm almost as concerned about scoring as I am about goaltending right now. They were shutout 8 times last season, 10% of their games they did not score which needs to change also.

Is it me, or is anyone else wondering if Adams' prospect pipeline has serious potential to spiral into oblivion?

Rosen - needs to seriously get his development on track
Poltapov, Kisakov, Sardaryan - Russia may not allow them to leave based on what happened yesterday with other prospects.
Ryan Johnson - Adams meeting with his family rep today to determine his 'intentions' (will he sign after the season, or pursue UFA)?
Portillo

It's good they hit on Bloom, but it's not enough.

The Sabres need to knock this one out of the park today and tomorrow.
I would like to see them target more "proven" talent.

They seem to value potential pretty heavily, almost to the point of aversion to taking more refined players. Some viewed Quinn as a high-end talent before the 2020 draft, but most seemed to agree it was more of a project. Rosen had a decent u18, but had mostly PP production and didn't show much in the SHL (I know, limited opportunity). Bloom and Constantini were guys that didn't really make waves. The first 2 Russians were ranked in the 2nd, but I think I remember some saying that guys like Chibrikov were plain better in the draft year. Sardaryan seems like a bit of a project.

I understand you have to draft with how you think guys will project year down the line, but I do think it opens up some serious risk of missing on a few big picks

Call me crazy, but I could actually get on board and I think 99% of the time an offer sheet is dumb and over hyped…

Someone evil in the comments even suggested doing it, then OSing Robertson

Yes, but Olofsson and Mitts were injured for almost the entire season, there was no Power, Quinn and Peterka. I'm not too worried about the attack, of course I would like to improve the squad as much as possible, but the goalie and RD should be a priority.

Not a good idea for us as our 1st coukd still be lottery next year but a good team? Late 1st etc is totally worth it

We can’t even get a bad goalie to come here with his former goalie coach and opportunity to start

Excuse me…im going to laugh for the next 5 hours

Well that sucks. We could've got our goalie, jumped Detroit in the draft and been guaranteed 1 of Gauthier/Kasper.

“I want players who want to be here”

-Kevyn Adams…trying to acquire a bad goalie with Buffalo on his no trade list
Varlamov also 16 no trade list. Cross him off. Bring on the dumpster dive guys.

Portillo next to bail. Levi better not be b.s.ing or Sabres are in deep shit down the road.
