Any chance you can find that post where you wrote this?

It lends credibility and obviously many would then really beleive you have sources myself included.

Go up a couple of pages in this thread its all there.

People are ignoring my posts but I called the Brantley signing prior to Hazel and others on this board. My sources are legit. The deal for Brantley was in place since a month ago but it was pending Springer being signed. Hence why it took so long to announce.

Now as for a potential trade, expect one in the next 24-48 hrs involving a SP and 3B in package. Im hearing Cubs and Reds are in talks with Jays where preliminary assets have already been agreed to dating back to winter meetings. What Im hearing is that the Lindor and Darvish deals have put some parameters of potential deal in question because the package given in both deals were less then expected.

Once those parameters are dealt with (hearing it has to do with prospects), the deal will be announced.
What is your thought on where Brantley plays? Seems more suited to be DH but that would mean one of Tellez or Vladdy would not get to play full time.

Jansen would be around 1.5 WAR in a full season and that's with the really unlucky offensive numbers he had last year. Kirk arrived last year and Moreno is close if one of those two falters. Catching is definitely a weak point production-wise in the last few years but there is talent in the system that's close or is with the team.
And that’s sleeping on Riley Adams, and not even mentioning Reese McGuire who still has value as a young strong receiver who at least hits from the better sides

There is more value in Grichuk than everyone thinks. Many teams have already kicked tires on him since the end of this past season. For what he produces his contract isnt all that bad when you consider Springer is worth 25 million and he is worth 9. Springer is pretty much a 5 tool player, while Grichuk isnt as good defensively or with the bat. But when you all see what Bradley is going to sign for, Grichuk will become a bargain for teams that have lost out him. Bradley is set to make 11-13 million a season with a new club. For that price I would take Grichuk everyday.

If Brantley is set to make 11-13m that’s a significantly better contract than Grichuk at 10.3m.

I'd try to trade Grichuk and prospect capital not named Martin or Groshans for a starting pitcher instead of dealing Gurriel.

Teo can be full time DH and mix in for days off in the OF and Vlad full time 1B.

Only issue here is who covers CF for days off for Springer? I figure he plays about 140 games or so, need at least 22 games in CF and I am sure he may DH randomly as well.

Only positive with Grichuk is he can be the back-up CF. Gurriel, Brantley, Teo, etc. are not options.

Biggio is covering for every position but catcher I think. LOL

Great couple days for the Jay's after alot of speculation and criticism. Team is vastly improved, as is our reputation within the players circles and scouts/gms. The cheque book is open and its time to push for some new banners. The fact Springer got paid, will do nothing but help future free agents be recruited to Canada.

As for future moves, I hope we continue to look at free agents for pitching help but we undoubtedly need to move some out fielders. My wish list would moving Grich and Hernandez for pitching, Lourdes will be the asking price but we have the prospects to help move quantity along with quality and keep the core around long term.

Wow, I haven't been too interested as I personally find it a waste of time to watch my favourite team lose constantly, it was fun at the start (when I first started watching around 2005, I remember Rios and Wells) and the Bautista/Donaldson years were a ton of fun. However, it just isn't fun for me when a team loses 100+ games a year. I know some people will criticize that of me but whatever, there are better things to do than watching a losing team. Anyway, these signings now officially have my interest back into watching pretty consistently as they will help compliment the young guns. Hopefully, they can get Bauer.

Also wanted to say that it's hard to continue to stay interested when they refused to spend money during the Bautista years when they easily could have. That was frustrating seeing them not sign a single asset to keep the team competitive.

Teo, Biggio, and Jonathan Davis were backing Grichuk up last season

Brantley will see time in both corner OF spots and DH as a rotational player. This could hinder playing time for a player like Tellez but not Vladdy. Only injury will prevent playing time for Vladdy or the occasional day off in day-night back to back games and potential doubleheaders.

Its not unreasonable to think that Tellez may be made available if the potential pieces are acquired. The Jays have been all about position flexibility. Tellez doesnt offer much, but can become a target of NL teams looking for a 1B/DH type when DH is implemented fully in the NL.

Your posts arent being ignored. Everything you're saying has been discussed at length here, well before you made posts. The Brantley signing wasn't a shock. Trading for a pitcher and third basemen wouldn't be a shock. These are obvious moves that have been speculated on all off-season.

Yup these are my thoughts as well . Since they are friends and repped by the same agency there'd been speculation well prior to last night . If the trade framework comes to be ill buy in but the rest was pretty general topics/information already speculated upon.

When you consider what Grichuk makes compared to Springer. There will be teams interested in acquiring him for what he can provide at that price. Brantley got what he did from the Jays due to the need of a LH bat and his OBP that they Jays are trying to improve. He would have received the same contract as Grichuk anywhere else. The Jays paid a premium to get him.

I don’t see it. He was projected when the offseason started to land a 14m aav. The only premium the Jays added was an additional year to the deal (and that’s for both Brantley and Springer). Grichuk might fetch something, albeit small, but let’s not confuse values here. The step up from him to Brantley, and then to Springer, is bigger than those salary numbers suggest.

It is pretty exciting to be making the transition to a competing team while maintaining the strong farm system we have built. A lot to look forward too.
