I have no idea what that means either. But if we were to trade for him you lock him up long term to a 6-7 year contract easily

Shows that Castillo has pitched like an ace against bad teams and pitched like a 3-4 starter against decent/great teams.

Yes but so has Clevinger and look at what he got in a trade. I would think he would push everyone down and would make a great ace for us going forward

Those are all discussion points we have all been having in this thread. The news I broke was as I received it. I dont see an issue stating opinions for discussions as everyone else does. That doesnt hinder my credibility.
Yes it does. He clearly presented where your posts don't add up with what you saying now. If Brantley was done a month ago, then how could they be after Springer as they were a front runner, when you clearly said they can't afford both.

Castillo isn't better than Ryu, and Clevinger didn't bring back a single prospect as good as SWR or Groshans.

Agreed.

Teams usually don't give up top prospects (unless you are getting Trout level players) I don't know why we would be special lol why would we be the only ones in the league overpaying with prospect capital.

You don't see why people would find it hard to believe that in the course of 24 hours you went from no inside information ever to having inside info on one deal to keeping everyone up-to-date on the inner-workings of the front office, down to meeting times, discussion topics, and specific trades being discussed?

If we're talking Chapman, Bieber, Ramirez esque players then by all means include Groshans or SWR bgecause past history would suggest you need that level prospect to make the trade. Why overpay for Castillo when the market has already established what a similar pitcher (Clevinger) would return on the market? For the record I'm a huge Castillo fan, I just think the Padres have shown that the Jays can acquire top of the rotation pitchers without moving Groshans or SWR.

The Padres gave up 3 roster players and young players in Austin Hedges (Jansen) Josh Naylor(Tellez or Biggio) Cal Quantrill (Romano or Hatch)
Plus there #7 and #9 and #11 prospects

You are 100% correct.

Biggio doesn't belong in the same category as Tellez or Naylor.

And that just further proves that you don't need to include Groshans or SWR for Castillo.

I badly want to keep Groshans by all costs and thinks he's going to be a good major leaguer. If it meant keeping Biggio and including SWR im all in for that

... You can acquire Castillo without including Biggio, Groshans or SWR...

If the Jays offer Kirk+ Martinez+Pardinho+, that's still 2 top 100 prospects and another high potential arm. The headlining pieces are better prospects than what the Indians got for Clevinger.

Also could they hurry up already and announce George Springer lol

I want to hear the man talk and be excited about the Jay's.

Also is it possible that if he is not technically signed yet could the Mets call him right now and say 175 million for 6 years? I ask because it seems that nothing is official at all.

I would like to see: Paxton, Tanaka and Didi.

Bauer has too many red flags for my liking.

Realmuto only if you have a deal lined up for a starting pitcher using our young catching assets.

There's a guy in da Leafs forum who was busted too

If the guy you're talking about is @ChuckWoods then you're greatly mistaken. He's was spot on with multiple things that he reported and when things were still up in the air, he never confirmed anything. He would simply state the Leafs are in discussions with x team regarding x players. Unlike @BlueForever75 who kept saying, the deal is done, etc etc. Big difference

Realmuto would be amazing. Im scared with Jansen and not being able to hit at the major league level yet. Realmuto just makes to much sense.

Tanaka would be fantastic as a #2

I like that package so much!

Yup. Chuck is terrific and was correct on pretty much everything. It's too bad some people discredited him and he stopped giving more info.
