Unless I am missing something that's quite a bit to give up for one year of Lindor. Granted he could still sign an extension but me might not.
He will sign. As long as he’s offered a fair contract he will sign.Unless I am missing something that's quite a bit to give up for one year of Lindor. Granted he could still sign an extension but me might not.
The Mets, per sources, had been willing to offer Springer a five-year deal for somewhat less than $150 million. The Toronto Blue Jays, meanwhile, recently made an opening offer to Springer in the $115 million range, per sources briefed on those talks
With Lindor on board, the Mets are less likely to sign Springer. Here’s why: The team will not exceed the $210 million luxury tax threshold this offseason. We’re not sure where the notion came from that money is no object for Steve Cohen’s Mets; it certainly didn’t come from Cohen, Sandy Alderson or Jared Porter. And it is far from the truth.
Not at the money he’s likely looking for as wellNot feeling a long term commitment to a reliever. Don’t care how good he is.

Good thing he's gone.

Stroman is like an angry ex girlfriend. The funny thing is, the Mets may need to dump salary to sign both Lindor and Springer, and he may end up somewhere else.
Season starting tomorrow? All the media hype and talk for nothing
I guess that answers our question. Once the Mets were on the table Lindor would negotiate a long term deal with them. Hence why they gave up a little more for him.
So even Lindor doesn’t want to play here. Sucks we have to overpay so much or wait until there are no other options for players. Not a level playing field at all.
