Off Season Move(s) Thread

Seems really early to make a decision on any prospect, but hey, if you have intel about Heidt from inside the MN team then I'm all ears. I thought he was a good pick a the very end of the 2nd, but it could be that was for a reason, and that he is a long shot to be a NHL'er. Still think they owe to themselves, and Heidt, to give him a year or two in Iowa at a minimum to develop. Dumping him this early on seems wrongheaded, to me. A guy like Conor McMichael didn't really hit his stride in the NHL till his D+6 year. Heidt just finished his D+ 2 year.
I have no intel about heidt

I would rather sign Nelson and keep Brodin.
If BG signs Nelson to anything more than a 1 or 2 year deal I’m gonna vomit. His best days are behind him. We don’t need another aging vet. If they are hell bent on ditching Rossi and finding another center, please go get Sam Bennett. And if that doesn’t work, I’d rather give money to Ryan McLeod than Nelson. He’s younger, is just as good in the dot and plays defense and is good on the kill, and lord knows we need help there.

Yeah I’m terrified of thinking of a Brock Nelson contract. We are desperate for a top6 center. Nelson is not that. If he wants to take a retirement home state discount for 2 years and play in the bottom 6 and pk. Welcome.

Is Ryan McLeod free?

I'm against the handshake deal like we think happened with Goli. I think it's also too big of a risk for the player for it be something they would consider. The GM could be gone in 2 years, injuries, the GM's mind changes, etc.
Don't tease me with a good time.

He's got 3 years on his ELC before any decision needs to be made. I still think he's a boom or bust for the NHL, be should be a good player to have in the AHL. I'm guessing he'll need AHL time to develop. If he's having a good season then a late season callup to get a taste of NHL so he knows what to work on in the summer.

Nah. He didn't get any time with the big club this year so clearly BG hates him and purposely sank Heidt's career by mishandling him. Which is unfortunate because he was destined to become the greatest Wild player to ever dawn the jersey

I think if Spacek was really some great prospect they probably wouldn’t have traded for Jiricek. Feels like Spacek will be thrown in some trade this summer.

I literally was trying to come up with a target to throw Rossi+ 2025 2nd + Spacek, at but couldn’t find one. Thought maybe SJ but idk who’d they’d be willing to give up.

For all the people who aren’t fond of Boeser, his goal production would still be 3rd on the Wild this past year. I’ll take a 25-30 goal scorer for free. It’s not like many teams are going to trade those players away.

I never said he didn't. What I said was that he's not clearly above the competition he's facing.

What competition? Jiricek? Bogo? Merrill.

The thing is Guerin is complaining about not having depth and then the prospects that should be depth are showing frustration with the organization. The complaints that players are coming up about Minnesota aren't new.

Hell Khus was just gushing over Boston and he seems much happier in that organization than he was in Minnesota.

You can put two and two together.

Spacek and Jiricek are in the same boat. If you aren't good enough to push bogo to a #7 spot then it's on you.

I do think spacek should get some games this year just to give him a look. Assuming he is going well in the ahl.

The players he's actively playing against, on the other teams...

Do I need to pull out a napkin and draw it for you? lol

Oh, do please list them for me. You have Spacek's dad (so speculative), Khus, and...?

He was the best defensemen in terms of points this season in the AHL, which was a disaster.

McBain, Lindberg for prospects. Ian Cole mentioned in the past Minnesota had a reputation and players didn't want to sign. Talbot had issues with Guerin. Guerin got a dressing down by the league and forced one of their staff to quit. Haula had an issue with the organization.

The players aren’t stupid , they can see the country club Guerin has built. Vets can play lazy uninspired half assed hockey and never be held accountable while the younger players are constantly demoted if they do something wrong. I wouldn’t want any part of Guerin and Hynes little circus of mediocrity.

And Rossi for f*** sake , the most important young player we currently have.
