I wouldn’t trade Brodin for him, but he’s a very good player. I think another TWC to PK & win draws would dramatically improve this team.

Think we're getting to a point where we're placing an oversized importance on faceoffs again, so probably a good time for me to say, if Rossi won 52% of his faceoffs this season, he'd have won 3 extra faceoffs every 5 games, which is very likely a negligible difference when you consider Rossi took 60 faceoffs in those 5 games.

Then @Dr Jan Itor comes in and says it's more about the timing/zone that the faceoff that matters, and we need a clutch faceoff stat, and we all lament that there really isn't one.

Then we look at the breakdown of Rossi's faceoffs and see that he was actually basically 50% on the draw on the PP, and he only took 5 faceoffs on the PK and realize he's not really the problem, and that Eriksson Ek was 35% on the PK and that's probably a bigger concern lol.

Clutch faceoff % doesn’t matter with Rossi because he doesn’t play on the penalty kill (gee, I wonder why…).

The writing is on the wall that Hedit is not a part of the future here. He’ll he used in a trade of some sort. The only forward prospects I think they have in the plans as of right now are Yurov, Ohgren, Stramel and maybe Haight.

How is the writing on the wall about Heidt? I'm not doubting you, I just haven't seen it and am hoping to learn.

Seems really early to make a decision on any prospect, but hey, if you have intel about Heidt from inside the MN team then I'm all ears. I thought he was a good pick a the very end of the 2nd, but it could be that was for a reason, and that he is a long shot to be a NHL'er. Still think they owe to themselves, and Heidt, to give him a year or two in Iowa at a minimum to develop. Dumping him this early on seems wrongheaded, to me. A guy like Conor McMichael didn't really hit his stride in the NHL till his D+6 year. Heidt just finished his D+ 2 year.
