I wonder if it says something about the Jays' ability to develop players when the only two Jays-drafted players in the starting line-up are considered the worst on the team?
Haha yeah I meant physical .. When you make the picture bigger, it's not that similar but on my phone when the picture was small - it looked very similar.

Thole is a much better hitter than Mathis. His career OBP is 75 points higher than Mathis. Thole's numbers versus lefties are similar to Mathis' career numbers but hopefully we can mostly get Thole in the lineup versus RHs.
I did say that was selling him shortSo we're going to argue that he's at the midpoint of quality in a 30 team league by saying he's a top 20 catcher?
That...doesn't make sense.
Which stats do you want to use? War? Dwar? Fielding %? The fact is he's solid in all of them when compared to other catchers yet some random stat nobody other then serious sabermetric guys have heard of will be brought up as the end all of the discussionSo, in other words, you can't prove that Arencibia is, at the very least, an average catcher?
Don't worry, no one expected you to. After all, it's impossible to prove something that's impossible to prove.
Sabremetrics.
Even standard stats prove JPA as a below average catcher. Again, he has his power number, but other than that all his standard and advanced stats are way below average ( I refuse to use RBIs in this argument as they are heavily team-based).

Santos is already in the pen. Brian Wilson is finished, I think. I don't think we need to sign anyone for our pen unless Oliver doesn't return for another season.
Dalebar and Lincoln were very good additions and with Aaron Loup and J.A Happ already in the mix as well, I think our pen is fine.
Adding Janssen to the pen? he has been there for years. What makes you think Brian Wilson is done?
If Oliver only wants to play for Texas, then we might as well trade him and get something back, rather than letting him retire. Wouldn't hurt adding Janssen to the pen, it'd only help and adding an all-star closer would be great too. Not to mention that beard, I remember the first time I saw it I thought it was fake

If R.A. Dickey agrees to a contract extension, he will be a Toronto Blue Jay.
The trade, according to the New York Post, would send Dickey, catcher Josh Thole and a non-elite prospect to the Jays, with the Mets receiving catcher Travis D’Arnaud, right-hander Noah Syndergaard, catcher John Buck and another non-elite prospect.

Is is just me, or do we have a JP debate every day?

His power and likeability blind people to how mediocre he really is.
Well, he was closing too.
Maybe not Harvey.I think everybody aside from Wheeler is up for grabs in the Mets' system. Nobody screams elite in their affiliates aside from him.
So you think that applies to the Jays' baseball evaluators as well?
