Uh, I mean introducing them?
They'll be introduced on opening night. Dickey may have a presser with him there, perhaps without him there or perhaps none at all. The trade had a presser and none of the players came because they were scattered across the world

Had one of those, too...
Send me a link to the press conference officially introducing each player to the media and putting on the Jays jersey and I'll gladly stop talking. Until then, stop being an ass for no reason.

Neither of those guys have an option. Happ does IIRC so Happ gets pushed out unless they send Delabar down.

This team is all about winning now. Best pitchers will play.

Cecil and Rogers will have to be better than those two in order to win spots.

Were passed the point of sending guys down just to preserve options

They're not having one of those, so you could be waiting a while.

Sorry, mid-remembered.

But what part of any of that was "being an ass"? :help:

Yuuuup. January-Feb is gonna suck though until Spring Training starts up.

Even with hockey, I guarantee I'll be more into baseball this year during ST than the NHL abbreviated regular season. Would probably tune in for playoffs though.

With the Raptors sucking bigtime and the possibility of no NHL the Jays are primed to capatalize on a plethora of starving sports fans.

It's almost going to be weird feeling having a legitimate contender in this city.

It's already weird wishing it was July during Christmastime.

Source: Dickey in agreement with #BlueJays on two-year, $25 million extension that he had requested from #Mets, pending physical.

Sorry if it has been posted. Just want to get it out there.

Wow that's an incredible deal on the contract. Essentially the same money he was looking for from the Mets. Surprising to say the least.

I don't understand the correlation between Tim Thomas to the Leafs and R.A. Dickey to the Jays.

Had Tim Thomas been traded to the Leafs he would have just retired. He would never accept a deal to come play in a Socialist country.

I don't feel that sacrificing youth for the Leafs makes sense, whereas the Jays need to bottleneck their talent in order to become a competitive team. In the NHL there is parity, and therefore prospects and organizational depth play a much more important role.

In MLB there are superpower teams that have tons of money, and smaller market teams have to pick a year to "go for it" and then deal with another 5-6 year period of rebuilding.

Just tells me that he want to win a championship rather than cash in big!

It was obvious that after this proposed deal leaked on Friday, Dickey could have upped his demands by $5-10mil and it would have put AA in a not so good spot.

Whatever disucussions they had over the weekend, seem to have worked out just fine.

it's an apt comparison assuming the Leafs were also on the cusp of real powerhouse status. That you think Tim wouldn't play here for some weird reason is neither here nor there. It's simply an late bloomer/age/talent comparison, no need to over analyze things.

I'm surprised too. After they mentioned conversion / tax issues, I figured he'd be asking for 14-15 a year to cover the difference.

Now, i just hope that JPA will not have problem catching a knucleball on a regular basis.

A knuckle ball can be hard to catch for some catcher.

He'll never catch him unless Thole gets injured. There's a reason were swapping catchers with them.

?So whats the latest

Obviously nothing is confirmed, but rumors sudgest that there is a contract extension in place 2yrs 25m. The last piece of the puzzle is for him to get his medical at the BlueJays training center in Florida.
