I did the math and considering cap rising to 92M$ in 25-26 and probably increasing by 4M$ every year, 8M*6y would be the same as 6,55M*6y if using flat 23-24 season cap (83,5M). 8,5M*6y equals to 6,96M*6y in this projection

Is that a speculated figure? That’s probably what he would get on the open market, but hoping he’d take a little less.

To be honest the Bob and Knight contracts are really making things complicated. It’s just way too much money tied up in goaltending.

As far as Reinhart, Verhaeghe, and Bennett while they were huge pieces of our cup win we cannot pay top dollar for them unless it’s maybe one. That is the way teams like Pittsburgh screwed up their cap, they spent too much money to keep guys who weren’t Crosby, Malkin, and Letang. And it made it way more difficult for them to get back.
