Part of me wants this to be true just for the fact the Rays somehow outbid the f***ing Yankees and Dodgers.

2022 is screwy enough already where I might just buy it.

As much as I want the Jays to get Freddie, it kind of reminds me of the Tavares signing. I wonder if they would regret it in a few years. Best years may be behind him. I still think they are better off keeping Vladdy at first and see if you can trade for JRAM or Chapman. Fill it out with Schwarber and a quality reliever.

Rays have been good all my life. they really should try pushing to move to Vegas or something. That management with actual profit to spend? oh boy.

We already seen how that plays out. Keep in mind the guy in charge of the Dodgers was the originator of the whole "watch me build a world series contender with 3.50 and this paper clip I found on the floor" type shit the Rays did and still do.

Predictably, giving him a budget made the Dodgers a superpower that can develop players about as well as they can sign them.

Also for my MLB draft folks, what's the expectation on Rocker this year when he gets drafted? Is he holding out for one team?

biggest issue with JT signing is the hard cap and the fact it hasnt increased as expected, thats not really an issue here. but j ram and shwarber to me would be the ideal situation.

Lol where the hell did the Padres come from? Did Eric Hosmer's contract just disappear last night and everyone missed it?

Is this AJ Preller's paranoia fueling him? "Shit can't let the Dodgers get another big name without having to make me look dumb first"

Preller is one of the worst executives. He's been given so much money to work with and no real results to show for.

Been saying this for years. Rebuilt the farm but tore it down and signed two contracts he didn’t need to in Hosmer and Myers. Now that he needs money to make his team better, he is desperately trying to get rid of Hosmer and Myers.

Basically just admitted we want Freeman

When Shi posted that we've talked to him and that there's a scenario that we get both, it means that there are offers out there to both (because if they said yes, then we would obviously go through with that)

To circle back on the whole vaccine/being able to play thing, let's just set aside the politics for a second and look at this from a team/sport perspective.

What kind of message does it send to your teammates, your manager/front office/etc when you decide to willingly not do something when a good portion of your teammates did and now you have to miss time because of it?

Aaron Judge is supposed to be the face of the Yankees, and now because of his...decision making he's looking at a scenario where he could very will miss well over half of the season between the ban in NYC and Toronto all for something completely in his control. Who the hell would want to play with a guy like that? What free agent wants to sign there knowing the teams best player is throwing games away?

At that point it's more of a "I don't give a shit about winning or my team" rather than a political thing.

I want to hear what people think. Again, this isn't meant to be political.

I think both sides have a reason to complain here tbh. It doesn't matter to me what someone does. But like use Kyrie for an example. He can sit courtside, mask off and watch his own team play but cannot play is just dumb. I know the sectors vs what the public can do, either way it's stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if New York or Canada eventually relaxes the stuff in the summer.

I think it is inevitable that New York will change it at some point in the not distant future. I don't see the requirements for entry into Canada changing anytime soon.
