Surprised to see Denzel Clarke and Damiano Palmegiani, but no Leblanc also kinda solidifies Edouard Julien in the main lineup which is cool. Don't know if he'll play 3B or DH but that power/discipline combo from the left side gives him some Joey Votto vibes.
Also surprised Mitch Bratt was added. Pretty big stepping stone for him and it's cool that the Rangers are letting him go to the tourney. Macko definitely would've been higher up on the chart for me but with him joining a new org (like Taillon) the Blue Jays/Macko may have opted out to focus on instructs.
I forgot to mention Cade Smith when I drafted up this list. Also R.J. Freure, but he wasn't really on my radar before. The rotation is very thin, so I'm not exactly positive who's starting the games after Pivetta/Quantrill/Skirrow, but there are a few guys who can probably give a couple innings to start (Cade Smith, Mitch Bratt, R.J. Freure, Curtis Taylor, Trevor Brigden, and Rob Zastryzny).
Yes, like previous years there is a contingent of players that are old and out of pro/semi pro ball. I don't really mind the legacy names being in there especially since there's some pretty decent arms to balance it out. Obviously no Romano, Wick, and Pop hurts the pen, but I'm pleasantly surprised Brash, Brigden, Diaz, and Taylor joined. Also having Quantrill is better than tossing out Ryan Dempster.
I think this roster looks better than Colombia's at least. I did find it funny though that they really had to scrape the depths of Canada baseball for pitching by grabbing Evan Rutckyj who now plays in Japan Indy ball.
