It's dumb to make this a Miller vs. Pettersson trade; they weren't traded for each other.
Canucks sold high on a contract that was about to look really bad, and the Rangers are full of bad salary and aging forwards.
The main knock on Miller was always "what are the Canucks going to do in a couple of years when that contract begins to stink" and they have solved that problem after extracting his most competitive years.
Pettersson on the other hand is younger and has turned the corner, likely still has many big seasons ahead of him.
What I'm currently choked about on behalf of the Canucks is Chytil's injury, and likewise injury history re: concussions - the Canucks are down one of the main assets they need right now to be competitive.
I think they are just trying to indirectly try to say we made a mistake by trading the wrong player and that we should have traded Pettersson instead of JT Miller. I guess that's where they are trying to spin it as. so its like "ha! you losers f ed up! Canucks sucks blah blah blah" but it also seems like other Ranger haters are trying to make fun of New York for making a bad trade. Overall not a very constructive thread anymore.
