I don't see them breaking up Miller-Borgen, which has by and large been a success, just to do a retread with Soucy. This doesn't mean Jones is done to me.
Name me one player having a good year in Vancouver this year?
Per NST: Pretty much a breakeven pair that had average usage.A low price considering scarcity of defensemen available and the usual premium. I'm curious about past Borgen and Soucy have together, even if they weren't a permanent pair. Don't know, don't remember.
I mean I guess? He was very good for the Canucks last season, especially in the playoffs.

He's your Ryan Lindgren replacement next year at $1.25M cheaper
Lindgren, Vesey, Reilly Smith for Parssinen, Brisson, Soucy, 2nd + 4th is good business by Drury.
that's not a competitive D.Miller-Fox
Soucy-Borgen
What'd Borgen ever do to you?Miller-Fox
Soucy-Borgen
that's not a competitive D.
____ Fox
Miller Borgen
Soucy Schneider
that is potentially a real D corps.
one of the worst 2nd pairs in the league?Miller-Fox
Soucy-Borgen
So basically Marek Malik?Scouting report for those interested:
Soucy has been pretty up and down his entire career, one good year one bad year, which is why no team he's been with so far has been in love with him.
Last season he was very good pretty much all year performing like a solid #4, and this season he's been replacement level at best. So I'd say overall he's your average bottom-pairing defensive D-man.
Large but not physical or mean enough for his size. If he can keep his game quiet and simple he can put together stretches of good hockey.
Not great in terms of moving or skating the puck out and not much offense to speak of.
As if that will get better with Lavi the Tugboat’s musical chairs defensive zone schemeSoucy played well with Borgen in Seattle. I wonder if they see the issues he’s had in Vancouver as system based like Borgen in Seattle who has been good in NY
Probably Vaak resigningI think Soucy-Borden was a pairing in Seattle…
Miller-Fox
Soucy-Borgen
_______-Schneider
Yeah I mean I understand those that don't like the trade on principle. That's fine.I shouldnt be shocked at the anger at this. The same complaints I heard about Vaakanainen and Borgen. We shall see. I trust the Rangers pro scouting department.
Maybe I'll like him better when I see him with the Rangers like I did with Borgen but this reeks of "glued to Adam Fox whether it works or not."I shouldnt be shocked at the anger at this. The same complaints I heard about Vaakanainen and Borgen. We shall see. I trust the Rangers pro scouting department.
If Soucy's in the top four, we're in trouble. If he's on the bottom pair, de Haan can do his job better, cheaper, and he was already here.
