Honestly, it says a lot about his reputation around the league when so many bottom feeding, offensively starved teams saw him available for free and say, "nah. We're good with Pat Maroon"
I'd also like to point out the King's have a bottom 1/3rd PP currently.I didn't say claiming him off waivers isn't good, I said he's probably not a good player like how I don't consider Daniel Sprong a "good" player.
An offense-only guy needs to be producing more than 40 points with PP time to be someone I'd call a "good" player. Even in his good year where he had 28 points in 56 game, pretty much half of his production (8 goals and 12 points) were PP points.
Only thing worse would be to stick him with Torts.I'm sure this will go great with Laviolette "coaching".
Yes, I'm sure he will get 12min of bottom 6 time and not a single look on any PPI'm sure this will go great with Laviolette "coaching".
“Which year?”Bet your house on USA winning gold at the world juniors.
There is more to hockey than stats.A little surprising that LA put him on waivers, when he was almost certain to be claimed, feels like they could have gotten *something* for him if they were going to cut bait.. and this late in the year it's pretty easy to just keep him around for the remainder which will make all rights for him permanently gone.
Personally I think all this EP JT drama, is complete media spun bullshit but even if it isn't any return would have to include a Centre as part of a bigger package. Now Drury can trade Laf+ for Miller.
Kings management are in fact imbeciles, their management of Kaliyev is only one of the reasons. So naturally Rob Blake and the LA FO must be imbeciles as well for giving up a quality forward for free.
According to Kings fans, LA already did that.they just want to ruin his development like kakko
I'm sure this will go great with Laviolette "coaching".
And in the time that he actually played he was at best slightly above average despite playing almost 2 minutes a game on the powerplay and getting pretty favorable deployments. There certainly could still be something there but at the same time there's been enough a sample size that he's not an "I can't believe he's on waivers" guy.He was benched/banished for half of that.
