You mean they paid a 4th for a guy FLA wanted to dump in order to do a bigger move right? Cause that's all it isNYR just got a 10 goals scored (68 over last 3-1/2) depth F for a 4th
They wont be paying inflated-seller-pricing for a middle-6 W, OP won't happen
somebody may pay all that, but most likely not NYR
couldn't care less about seller's reasons why.You mean they paid a 4th for a guy FLA wanted to dump in order to do a bigger move right? Cause that's all it is

i stand by my statement, NYR not gonna overpay for depth guys or rentals
if/when i am wrong about that, you can genuinely call me out
I wish Habs and Gorton all the best, but this is not an "all-in" spring for NYR
posters at HFB are enjoying circling NYR's pipeline, hoping premature success leads to short-term benefit trades with longer-term costs
i don't see NYR sending away a top prospect for 'nice to have'
let's revisit Monday evening - see ya then
Its only premium for the Habs apparentlyWhat happened to RD as a premium position...offer is garbage
He's not a B prospect. He is the No. 2 ranked Ranger prospect and the Rangers have a good prospect pool. He's a 21yo RHD that just wasn't quite ready for the NHL. He has been doing very well in AHL and is highly though of by Ranger management. Many Ranger fans wouldn't do this trade straight up for Lehkonen let alone a second.A very good and proven bottom six with outstanding defensive game for a B prospect that may never be.
The second has more value....but still...
No.
He's a 21yo RHD 1st round pick. He's not terrible defensively and he has been scoring a lot recently. Schneider has been very good and proven to be more NHL at this point but it doesn't mean Lundkvist is not going to be a good one. I like Lehkonen a lot and want him on my team but the Rangers are not going to trade Lundkvist straight up for Lehkonen, let alone give up a second. It's just not going to happen.Smashing the AHL?
@ 5'10 180, knowing he's terrible defensivelly, not physical at all, you're actually hoping he'd be near ppg in the AHL.
He isn't
No not fair and more signif, it is a foolish win now overpay for a guy they cannot afford to extend post season. CAP IS REAL stop ignoring = consequencesThe NYR are set at RD long term with Trouba, Fox and Schneider. They need quality players in their bottom 6 for the playoffs.
Montreal are sellers and lack RHD in their system.
The trade:
NYR gets: Lehkonen, 5th round pick in 2022.
Montreal gets: Lundkvist, 2nd round pick in 2022 (lowest between NYR's and St-Louis's)
Fair?
Price of any player set:Incoming @bernmeister novel about how the Rangers would trade a 6th for Lehkonen and nothing more.
da boldI mean, you don't exactly get a really good A prospect for that, or a player that's going to be that in an even swap. If a player like Lehkonen is being traded, you're basically saying you don't expect to make playoffs (which they don't), and you need to get younger and build up your potential future roster with picks/prospects. I'm not sure holding out for a 1st is a better offer than this unless you feel Lundkvist doesn't have a future spot, which is a fair assessment, but I think any offer is going to involve prospect that may never be.

It's been like 14 hours. I guess I'm not going to get an answer to my question. Most likely because the only ammo he had was "he's not big"It's possible he could bust, but I'm curious - what exactly makes you so confident that he will bust?
He's like bambi on ice.Rangers fans, what's prevented Lundkvist from taking that next step?
He's like bambi on ice.
Even when he celebrates a goal he manages to trip over himself...
