Proposal: NYR-Habs

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
IF he waives, yes
some retention dep on return

offense + skating have returned, fully
def + physical play remains subpar
His PPGA/60 this past month was 3.31. That is a very good number. 5 is a very good number. 8 is probably more average. Defense last month has been decent. He's at least over the 50 mark in them fancy stats in that time frame. Hitting have never been his strong suit but 6 hits in the past month too compared to 18 hits in Oct through end of Jan. That's 4.5 hits per month to a big 6 hits per month of a 33.33% increase. JTM is rubbing off on him. Be we can agree, physical play could use improvement but it's not off his baseline.

Zibanejad's never suggested he wants anything other than to be a Ranger for a really long time. He has the full NMC to make that happen (until March 2029, when it becomes a partial NTC). He doesn't seem to care what the fickle fans think at any given point in time. His play has picked up since Miller arrived, and the Rangers seem a lot happier with him.

Zibs says no
Good.

2C under 6mm for a 2nd round pick and flaming trash? standard issue habs fan proposal?

add guhle to the return and it actually gets interesting. zib would never waive to play for montreal though. at this point in his career he wants to win not babysit
If he wants to win than what the hell is he playing for the Rangers.
Guhle alone is worth more than Zib

Jeff Gorton's best trade in New York was the Zibanejad trade. He has had interest in re-acquiring some of his former Rangers players. Arpon Basu reported a few months ago that the Habs talked to the Rangers about Kakko last summer. The Borgen trade has worked out very well for the Rangers. Montreal was interested in Trouba who did not want to play in Canada again. Mika has a fulll NMC. I am not sure if he wants to play in Canada again.

Gorton isnt the GM

NYR would trade him for peanuts if they could. But they can’t. He’s a capdump!
Horrible take. He has had a month long dry spell last year and this year. then is almost ppg the rest of the season. He has more value then you think. Krieder is a cap dump.

One good month doesn’t change the fact that he is a shell of himself, on a steady decline, and on a longterm 8+ million contract. No GM will take that on. The risk is too high!

add the habs best all around, 23 y.o, dman and it gets interesting for you?

did you hear that click? That was Hughes hanging up on you and / or Drury

not interested in a 32 y.o C with that much term. Regardless if he bounces back or not...he doesn't fit habs rebuild and he has too much term to be a placeholder.

When did Zibanejad become Kakko?
your post makes 0 sense.
As I wrote, Kakko was a buy low, young, high pick...which would fit into the rebuild of the 2nd youngest team in the league.
Zibanejad does not.
