So we pull off one of the greatest talent rebuilds I've ever seen in sports and the reaction is to fire the architecht.

Brilliant.

I will say, other than nostalgia I hadn't been a 100% fan of JD's rhetoric since he came aboard a year ago, but Gorton was teflon to me. Shocking and disappointing.

Assistant GM Chris Drury is believed to be the leading candidate to fill the post of GM while Dolan conducts a hunt for a president that is expected to have Mark Messier at the top of the wish list.

Rangers fire John Davidson, Jeff Gorton in shocking move
Messier is about to trade away the entire team to bring back the country club days of the lat 90's.

I bet Gorten and JD don't want to sell the farm for Eichel and Dolan does. That's probably what this is about.

This year has literally been f***ing insane with this team.

How...

What...

If the team underachieved wouldnt the coach go first?

I just dont understand the logic

Incoming Drury as GM, Knoblauch as new coach next season. Drury having a say and his experience with him on the bench probably plays into the promotion...

Team still would need a new president, and people would be lining up for that job.

What a crazy day.

Wouldn’t put it past Panarin being significantly injured to a point where he went to ownership and displayed his disappointment and the fact that the FO’s off-season moves consisted of adding no grit or will and decided to distance themselves from a statement that was well written is a joke. Nice to know the President and GM didn’t have the superstar’s back. Dolan did the right thing. His reputation will have people ripping him though.

Let's find out why it happened before we say it was the right thing.

Fires JD & Groton because we “underachieved”..... Jesus I didn’t know we were supposed to be a playoff contending team. We’re clearly rebuilding with our first and second overall picks the last two years.

You get rid of the HC who doesn’t belong in the NHL. You bring in a experienced HC. Then you OVERACHIEVE.

I haven’t been this mad in a long time. Way to send a ugly message to the Rangers players. I’m sure they’re happy with this.

We really need the truth to come out, but either way I can see the motivation for Dolan honestly. If it was because JD and Gorton wouldn't support the letter to the league than that shows that they weren't being loyal to Dolan and the organization in which case they have to go.

But the fact is the team has been a total and complete mess from basically opening night. The ADA situation after Dolan just paid the guy almost 10M and then he's off the team for good 6 games into the season, the Panarin situation, the team underachieving in some respects, Lafreniere and Kakko not exactly lighting up the scoresheet. It's been a very frustrating situation and it hasn't reflected well on anyone.

I apologize I am kind of behind right now. I sold my house on Saturday and agreed to buy another last night at midnight.

Congrats on the new house. We're just happy to have any insight to what is going on inside of the organization.

Before we go down a rabbit hole, let’s wait and see what the actual facts are.

The disagreement on the statement, if there is one, could be related to tone and language and not the disagreement.

Congrats on that accomplishment, I've been outbid 8 times trying to buy a house in the last 2 months.

So Tom Wilson just destroyed two of our best players and cleaned out our front office

Wow. This is unbelievable and I can't help but think how happy Caps fans are

Tom Wilson destroyed our organization

It really is amazing, but not the way that we are happy about it. More like, ”well that escalated quickly”.
