Lafreniere would be an idiot not to test RFA. Cost him 20+ milliim over next 7 years. Former first overall pick and Rangers in caphell. Many teams be bidding high on him.

Rangers can't match because between him and Sher it be 13-14 million increase. Then they have increases to Miller, Tempe and Chyil. Trouba going no where, he has full NMC and loves NY.

In order for him to miss out on 20 million over 7 years, a team would have to offer him 12 million per assuming the Rangers are offering a flat 8 per over 8 years.

If the NYR'S go to 8.75 per, someone will have to offer close to 13 per, McJesus and Nate territory

Who's going to do that??

lol this guy was 6 months from being called the biggest bust of the century. His playoff performance last year got him this contract.
Last season he was tied for 39th in even strength points and tied for 15th in even strength goals. Despite this, he played less minutes than everyone higher than him in goals and everyone higher than him but 2 in points. What he’s doing with limited minutes and powerplay time is absurd, he has 6 points in 6 games still without a powerplay point this year. This kid is still primed to explode once his usage goes up.

That and the fact that he's one of the better even strength producers in the league? I read recently that he's 13th in even strength goals and 23rd in even strength points since the beginning last year and he was much better towards the end of the year into the playoffs and into this year. Dude is probably the second best forward at even strength on the Rangers and just doesn't get PP1 time. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Edit: Someone posted these numbers, so maybe my numbers are off, or this year's numbers really bumped him up.

Laf and his agent getting impatient.
Wait another month or so for Laviolette to finally get fed up with Zibanetrash and replace him on the PP with Laf.

Then they boosted numbers he will get they can ask for more AAV

If I'm his agent all my comparables in negotiations are even strength points particularly towards the end of last season, the playoffs, and start of this season when he's close to a PPG at even strength.

Anyone saying this is an over payment hasn't seen his progression over the previous calendar year. He's transformed into one of the team's best players. His counting stats will begin to catch up much sooner than later to reflect this.
He was their best player in the postseason last year. If anyone didn't see it, they must have tuned out.

Now he's trying to do this over 82 games. This deal will become one of the best bargains in the NHL as soon as it begins. Fox and Lafreniere are the next leaders of this organization.
